I am reminded of a poem by the famous Persian Poet Saadi.

It is amazing that a poem written in 13th century is still now applicable.

It is about an Ant. I think not.

Thanks for the kind comments.  Maybe we can all take a lesson of persistence from the Ant.

divaneh

The poem is from Ferdowsi

Saadi only referred to it. The verses that are from Iraj to his brother at the time of his murder and seem to point to the Zorostrian tradition of killing the ants. Plutarch reports that he viewed Zoroastrians priests walking around with sticks and killing those insects who help Ahriman, including ants.

Thanks for another great cartoon dear Kaveh, and thanks to Azadeh for a deserving translation of this great verse.

میازار موری که دانه کش است

که جان دارد و جان شیرین خوش است.

On the ant bearing the grain bring not strife

He is alive and joyous is sweet life
