Uninvited Guests!

Uninvited Guests!

In the shadows, they did lurk

Watching, planning and waiting

Patiently, their scheme to unfold

Like the predator watching their prey

Day, and night, each taking turns

The prey, totally clueless to their plans

How could they know, after all

The prey had no evil in their hearts

Everyday the prey would do their best

Gaining knowledge, and becoming the very best

Finally, the predators decided the time had come

They waited, one by one the prey did leave

The predators came together, the cowards

One by one, entering into the dwelling of their prey

Taking what the prey had worked so hard for

Without conscious, or guilt, plundering all they could

Leaving with their spoils, very content with themselves

The prey was devastated as they saw the horrifying scene

The disbelief, and shock, seen within their eyes

Peace, and tranquility was stolen on that day

Feeling of being violated instead remained

The Prey became armed for battle

Should the predator return, and attack

Dawn broke, and a new day began

The prey awoke tormented, and dismayed

By mid-day, the decision had been made

No more, would they be the prey!

It was time to reclaim what was stolen!

With everyday, that passed, a little more was gained

Again, on their path to knowledge, to become the very best

Peace, and tranquility, slowly returning into their hearts

Realizing, that what truly matters, cannot be taken away

Author note: Poem was written as a reflection of the outrage felt as her home was broken into twice this year and then finding her car broken into this morning.

Thank you!

Yes, it is truly sad when the highlight of one's day is, if the car is still there in the morning.

Major bummer!

Well, the important thing is that my son and I are well.

Best

Yolanda,

Thank you for your kind words and the video clip. Yes, where is the love this days?

I will begin moving today after 10 am. My two sons and mom are here to help.

The police officer dusted for finger prints. I left the dust there as a remimder to the thiefs that the police were informed. Once, I move then I will wash off the dust.

Thank you!

Actually, I am in the process of moving to a better place this weekend. If only, it could have been sooner.

Best,

Sorry Natalie. Perhaps it's time to move. Good poem.
