the most part. There was an interview on Democracy Now, and an Egyptian journalist was describing how these same anti-riot units broke both of her arms and raped her. She thought that they were mostly from poor and uneducated background, hell bent to displaying their power. Our resident cyber-jahady here, is another story of course. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As Egypt Holds Vote, Journalist Mona Eltahawy Recounts Beating, Sexual Assault By Egyptian Forces

Not true.

Most people I know, Arabs indeed, are appalled with this kind of behaviour.

This picture depicts normal, everyday Islamist behavior

by AMIR1973 on

If the West-residing IRI Groupies had their way, this would be normal, everyday behavior everywhere around the world. Fortunately, it isn't. Unfortunately, Iranian women do have to suffer this kind of brutality at the hands of IRI thugs, killers, rapists, and torturers.

Great woman fighting for freedom from Islamic devil

by Siavash300 on

Great woman in this picture reminds me of our sisters who fight for freedom with bare hands against Islamic devil on streets of Iran. I sympathize with her as I sympathize with all of our brave Persian women who fight till the last drop of their bloods in combat with barbaric laws of lizard eater Arab.

So you can actually interpret a picture without words. Now we have solved one of your problems.

What we need now is teaching you the meaning of sarcasm. But that needs a lot of refinement...

I am tazee, IRI agent, groupee, apologist, Sundees-khor, pasdar, and basijjee supporting NIAC in my freetime. Now that this is established...

Basiji's radical islamist supporting democracy?? That's rich.

your motivation for putting up this picture had nothing to do with democracy but your hate-filled envy of the western societies' relative democracy and their progress and perhaps abusive  indoctrination listening to so many mysoginistic akhoonds on manbars.you wil actually would be a great case study for a radical loser psyche.

You are alter ego of Q by any chance? I will not waste my precious time responding to your Basiji talking points....

You are asking admin the following question:

Dear Admin: Where is the editorial on this picture? Shouldn't blogs have some original thought/ words to qualify as a blog??. Also the source of the image is not cited properly??

1) This is not a news article so no source is given.

2) If you had any genuine interest in democracy, you would have seen the picture and video shown all over the world. But then asking admin to remove the blog shows how selective you are in allowing democracy.

3) And last but not least, what is it in the sentence "a picture is worth a thousand words" you don't get that you still ask for words.

But let's stay objective. Normally, Arabs do not treat their women like that in public. Normally, there would be people running in her defence.

Hélas, nothing is normal these days. Neither in Egypt nor elsewhere.

This could be Hazrat Zeinab in Karbala

by divaneh on

Those who struggled against injustice have always suffered in the hand of the thugs and those who cheer for them. Women being physically and sexually assaulted in such struggles is nothing new. This could be Hazrat Zeinab in Karbala being pulled by the soldiers of Yazid. Now look at that picture again and beat your chest.

And to cheer everyone up, here is the video of the Basiji thugs being beaten up. There is even more hate for them now.

Hi! HG,

It is super sad that this lady was treated worse than a road-kill, but some people laughed at this helpless victim!

At 1st I was shocked by the image.....and then I realized this is the same country that CBS reporter, Lara Logan, was sexually assaulted!  They used the same tactic......tearing away women's clothes 1st, and then they acted out their animal nature.

Yesterday I heard Egyptians are looking for this lady and wanted to know her current status...Thank God that there are good people in Egypt that they feel this is injustice!

"This picture is dedicated to followers of West-sponsered "democratic" movements.'

After reading the comments I must declare:

You're lucky the 'followers of West-sponsered democracy' on IC don't have access to you physically or they would've dragged you on the street just as the soldiers are doing to the poor woman!

yolanda, you're absolutely correct about his honesty.  you can also see his honesty in his crass reply to the equally crass comment by lily hozeh (can a woman actually make the comment she made?): a woman, by shaving, would lose her last line of defense against rapists.

No one is in a better position to criticize the treatment of women and political opponents than the wonderful Islamist regime and its West-residing cyber-Groupies.

I see a woman being tortured by some thugs and nothing more.

It is very telling how some people see it different,

The sickest are people making fun of her.

Why are so many bloggers in here so cynical, jaded, burnt-out?

by Hooshang Tarreh-Gol on

Becuase deep down they really hate Iranian people. Or any other people who rise up and fight for their freedom.

All these Hezbollah and shahollah have one thing in common; hatred of a people who are determined to acheive their goals and obtain their freedom.

Would it have killed you if you had expressed your principaled solidarity with that poor women. Instead you had to distort the entire Democracy movement in Eygpt, calling it "western-sponsered" (because it doesn't get any money from your bosses in IR), and belittle the violence against civilians. Shame on you and your type, if you had any.

by MeyBokhor_Manbarbesuzan on

I personally never flag or remove comments.

Why should I? When it reflects your (lack of) character and is a showcase of your English analphabetism.

Where have I insulted the protesters?

I am just pointing out your boss's manipulation of Arab demonstrations.

But hey go ahead and live in your own fantasy world.

What are the chances of things get better if Iran having monarchy? Nothing the master is still the same.

First of all I don't agree with your statement about the master. You provide no proof. Second a lot will improve. When Shah was around:

  • We had social freedom and no barbaric Sharia law.
  • We had religious freedom.
  • Peace and no threat of attack.
  • Much better economy.
  • Much easier to travel internationally.
  • Respect for our culture and history.

Now these things may not matter to some but they matter to me.

The horse is the same only the saddle changed. I AM NOT SURPRISED A LITTLE BIT AT ALL AS WE HAD IT TOO.

There can be many of these government changes, BUT only things change for the better only and only if the master changes not the puppet.

What are the chances of things get better if Iran having monarchy? Nothing the master is still the same.

Who is the master?

Those international politicians which make decisions for us.
