The following is a translation of a speech Ahmadinejad delivered in Province of Isfahan in the month of Azar. I have a feeling this speech will become as big as the “wiped off the map/vanished from pages of time” speech. The most controversial part of his speech is line number 9, which elsewhere is translated as “They have all died in vain.” but my translation is different than this.
The segment shown in the video clip seems to be running continuously, except between line 9 to 10.
Sixty five years ago, seventy years ago Second World War commenced. In this war more than sixty million people were killed. Now you travel to Europe, see if there is any name of these dead at all. Is there any indication of these dead? Never! Why? Because they did not have a high goal. They did not have any connection with the Perfect Man and Imam. They have all died in the cause of idolatry. Why is it that our Revolution has remained for thirty years? Look! Where were our enemies thirty years ago, where were we? Where are they today, where are we! If thirty years ago we were on the second step, they were on the hundredth step. Today by the Grace of God, we are on the two-hundredth step, and they on the second step. Why?

What is 30 years
by Ahmed from Bahrain on Thu Dec 24, 2009 11:55 PM PSTin the evolution history of mankind.Nothing, absolutely nothing stands the test of time, except love.
Man can be so arrogant. It is because of his ignorance.
"Us and them" has never worked in history and anyone whose brand is such is doomed for failure, whether it takes 30 years or 300 years.
I ask this Ahmedinejad: "Who created this 'others'? Surely it was your same God, otherwise you believe in some other Creator as well as your God. In which case you are blasphemous."
This is where human beings are dissuaded from thinking for themselves and are taught to follow some 'marja'. Thinking for yourself is classed as 'bidaat' and therefor the thinker deserves to go to Hell. Again, who has given us this effing brain? if it is not the same God then this brain must come from some other Creation!
Blind leading the blind.

Interesting........
by Natalia Alvarado-Alvarez on Thu Dec 24, 2009 06:37 AM PSTI shall ask my Iranian Muslim friends whom comes to mind when they think of Islam.
When I think of Islam, I think of Muhammad (pbuh).
Very interesting indeed.
As for AN, I don't give much value to his speeches.
MPD,
Thank you for providing the English translation.
Are you analysing his speech?
by divaneh on Wed Dec 23, 2009 09:49 AM PSTGuys I think you attach too much importance to his rants by analysing it. He has no idea what he is talking about. Definition of the perfect human and the rest, is too far above him.

He sounds like some people who talk a lot of smack on i.com!
by Anonymouse on Wed Dec 23, 2009 05:05 AM PSTHopefully this speech will not be another "wiping his ars with a map" and by now the world has realized that the best response to him is ignoring him and supporting the green movement.
Everything is sacred.

by gitdoun ver.2.0 on Wed Dec 23, 2009 12:09 AM PSTnon-islamic religions if they retain monotheism are not considered idolatry. and with these wilayat faqhi cultist u dont know who they consider as "perfect man" they interchange it so many times with khomeini and mehdi or khamenei that you don't know what they mean. But i don't think Ahmadinejad is referring to Mohammad. In iran the prophet of islam in popularity is considered a distant 4th after Imam Ali, Imam Hussein, and Imam Mehdi. it's ironic but true. iranians identify with his successor or his grandchildren more than the man who revealed Islam in the first place. Go to any average iranian walking in the streets of Tehran and ask "what person comes to mind when u think of Islam ?? 9 out of 10 will mention Imam ali or Imam Hussein or anyone else but the Prophet of Islam. i think this is one reason why this cult group of wilayat faqhi was able to take root in iran in the first place.

by yolanda on Tue Dec 22, 2009 11:38 PM PSTI thought "idolatry" refers to non-Islamic religions & "perfect man" refers to Mohammad in AN's speech.

Ahmadinejad-case for psychiatric ward
by gitdoun ver.2.0 on Tue Dec 22, 2009 11:29 PM PSTthis guy truly suffers from a mental illness. i'm not trying insult him or anything but he really truely needs psychiatric help. i think out of the many illnesses he suffers one of them is DENIAL. like denial injected with steroids. i love the part where he say's : "They have all died in the cause of idolatry." ** idolatry is the very epitome of this cult called Wilayat Faqhi. They do tawaf (circumambulate) around the shrine of khomeini as if it was the kaaba itself. i've seen pictures of people throwing money on the grave of khomeini thinking they will be blessed. basij crawling on their stomachs moving on their elbows towards khomein's grave chanting prayers !!! isn't this idol worshipping ?? ahmadinejad speaks of connection to perfect man; doesn't he mean khamenei ? isn't this all idolatry ?? Every religion has a cult or had one sometime in their history. Wilayat faqhi followers are a cult and have nothing to do with Islam Proper.

by Shifteh Ansari on Tue Dec 22, 2009 09:33 PM PSTA very important speech, indeed, and a few more nails in Islamic Republic's coffin. Thank you for preserving it for posterity's sake.
History began for Mahmoud Ahmainejad 30 years ago; therefore, to him, nothing important existed before.
In about 1.5 years maximum, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will be swept into the dustbin of history, and for many many more years people will read about his speeches, remembering him as Hitler has been for the past 65 years, on the very top of the staircase of history's infamy. He is right. The victims are only remembered as very large groups. It is only the tyrants and murderers who are remembered by name. He is already one of them.

by yolanda on Tue Dec 22, 2009 11:20 PM PSTHi! MPD,
Thank you so much for your bi-lingual blog! His speech sounded like a theocratic speech to me. My interpretation of his speech is that: if you are an infidel, your death is in vain. If you don't have Islam, you have no future!
#15 is a trademark AN line, it shows AN is full of hot air, gung-ho, and super-duper "confident"!
Thank you for translating the speech, so a person illiterate in Farsi like me can participate and learn something here. Thank you!
