by kansan (not verified) on Thu Jan 22, 2009 07:19 AM PSTYes, other Judges make a point of having it written out on a card for them. The Chief Justice is likely to have a card with him every time hereon.
Re-Administered. Resolved.

by Multiple Personality Disorder on Wed Jan 21, 2009 08:18 PM PSTIn the blog itself I was not trying to be judgmental about Obama or Roberts. I only tried to provide a transcript of the event. However my opinion of it is now posted as a comment called “I believe,”.
I also went ahead and changed the title of the blog from ”Ooops, not a good start!” to what it is now, since the old title was misleading about what I was trying to do here.
Thank you for reading.

by Multiple Personality Disorder on Wed Jan 21, 2009 07:43 PM PST...Obama, after his initial mistake of reciting his name prematurely, acted as a president who is willing to be inclusive towards his opponents. He said, “that I execute” and stopped to give Chief Justice Roberts a chance to correct himself, but Roberts fumbled his words, and Obama went ahead and put “faithfully” at the end of the sentence, to be reconciliatory to Roberts, I believe.
I don’t believe many people noticed either that Roberts also made this mistake: “...President ‘to’ the United States”, the correct Oath is “...President ‘of’ the United States”.
Clarification.....
by Free Spirit on Wed Jan 21, 2009 06:12 PM PSTI was referring to Obama.
I could care less about the judge.
:o)
Obama retook the oath today
by desi on Wed Jan 21, 2009 05:53 PM PSTObama retook the oath today with justice Roberts as an "abundance of caution".
Oh no. I think we should make an example out of him
by I Have a Crush on Alex Trebek on Wed Jan 21, 2009 05:43 PM PSTBy trash, I mean he should be chucked aside. Not recycled. You took it the wrong way ma dearie.
The worst was when he came around on his recent book tour and trashed Anita Hill again. Trashy behavior ..... why? Because he can damn it! He made it to the top. Stick it to her he SHOR did.
Again, make an example out of him. Thomas did something so trashy and low that it should be remembered.
Oh come on.....
by Free Spirit on Wed Jan 21, 2009 05:27 PM PSTso you mean to tell me that you have never ever screwed up in your entire life...........Hmmmmmmm :o)
jeez
by Anonymous commentor (not verified) on Wed Jan 21, 2009 04:26 PM PSTsorry i rained on your parade. i just said "trash" was a little excessive. you don't like him. we get it.
fine, let's just execute him. that should make you happy.
Hmmmm. Anita Hill was just a mirage for you, eh?
by I Have a Crush on Alex Trebek on Wed Jan 21, 2009 04:05 PM PSTDo you even know the story of Thomas? He magically "found out" that he was an affirmative action candidate. He said it was why he couldn't get work, while ALL his classmates were working and not complaining. He graduated bottom of his class (like W Bush! surprise). No one ever defends him, except wingnuts, in the name of Republican rage.
He mistreated a women "below" him, because he could. He got the prize at the end, nonetheless. But I will always view him as trash, who was NOT qualified for his position whatsoever. He served on the bench a year and a half. Let's face it, Bush senior felt shitty after that stupid racist ad he ran about Willie Horton and used Thomas as public atonement. A-holes. All of them.
to the contrary, instead of
by Anonymous commentor (the real one) (not verified) on Wed Jan 21, 2009 02:24 PM PSTto the contrary, instead of getting all freaky about it or negative about it, we decided it lent a nice "authenticity" to the ceremony. he's human and humans make mistakes.
hells bells, you should have heard what we did to our self-written wedding vows!!!!
thomas is hardly trash. you don't like him, fine. but "trash" is a little extreme.
what am i saying.. this is iranian.com! EVERYTHING is extreme.
Roberts is trash just like Clarence Thomas
by I Have a Crush on Alex Trebek on Wed Jan 21, 2009 10:01 AM PSTHowever, Thomas was really truly awfully unqualified. But this was just ridiculous. CHeif Justice? Not a big deal to screw up I guess. With Republicans, qualifications, intelligence, thoughtfulness are traded for straight up sloppiness.
That was not Obama's fault!
by Anonymous commentator (not verified) on Wed Jan 21, 2009 04:20 AM PSTIt was the fault of the officiating Judge! So no wrong can be attached to Obama on this occasion.
