To Orang: the cure is ...
by Lion finder (not verified) on Thu Feb 05, 2009 10:30 AM PSTOrang jaan, the best cure for your father and all homesick old folks longing for Iran is to go and vote for Khatami in the upcoming elecshow. He will come and fix everything.
btw, don't forget Gaza!
I'm OK :-)
by Orang Gholikhani on Thu Feb 05, 2009 03:20 AM PSTHi every body, Az Moshaereh khasteh nabashid.
Thanks to all for your kind words.
IranDokht jan, I'm happy and optimistic guy and looks like the picture :-)
I'm not an egocentric man, my poems comes from my observations and what I catch in the aire and may be it is my mood or winter time, these days I catch sadness. I promise you a happy poem (I've in my notebook) for next time.
Sorri jan, my father has already told me this story and I take the title from it but I dedicace it to all Iranian old men who left their country lately and culturaly they must remain proud like a Lion but they can no more afford it. Young people and westerners don't undrestand them. Let us have a thought for their lonliness and hopeless life. If my poem make you feel 10% of their sadness, I'd done my job.
As we say in French, everything should finish with a song :

by Souri on Wed Feb 04, 2009 06:40 PM PSTVery nice and sad poem, my friend.
Now, to make you laugh a bit, there's an old story which I don't remember the author (Obeid Zaakaani maybe?? Ask your Dad, I'm sure he knows) which ends with this poem :
Shire be yaal o dom o eshkam keh did?
in chenin shiri khoda key aafarid?
It's about a guy who wanted to get a Lion tattoo on his arm, but once the work had started, got so much hurt that he asked for the suppression of the "Yaal"...then it goes the same with the "dom" and finally he renounce to get even the Lion's "shekam"....
That's where it comes the poem. I remember the story was very funny.
Cheers,
The Despair…

I thought Ali P would just show up to tell me to go away like he did last time... but I have to ask anyway: why?
chin up my friend and have hope!
Nice poem but just too hopeless and sad...
by the way, the lions in the picture look pretty good! they have both yaal and dom ;-)
