Thank You -
I Don't Recall Either ...
by R2-D2 on Fri Aug 17, 2012 11:12 AM PDTI think this is a fine gesture, as you mentioned, especially in view of the ineptitude that the government has shown in addressing people's needs -
As I said, I hope this would set as a good example for all groups to do their private initiatives in fundraising - Again, especially for us in diaspora -
I don't recall Iranian celebrities doing similar efforts before.
by Esfand Aashena on Fri Aug 17, 2012 11:01 AM PDTI think this is a new gesture and though the world was very helpful in the Bam earthquake and even a US Military KC-130 touched down in Iran and delivered needed items, I don't recall Iranian celebrities getting involved as much.
Perhaps they've faired well in the years past and in a better position, financially, and have access to news and how other countries react to their natural disasters.
Everything is sacred

Thank You So Much Esfand For The Photos
by R2-D2 on Fri Aug 17, 2012 10:33 AM PDTThe fundraising will continue until midnight tonight - I sincerely hope that this fundraising by our "Artists" would set an example for the rest of us - Especially, those in diaspora -
Let's see what the total would be when it's done -

by R2-D2 on Thu Aug 16, 2012 05:52 PM PDTThe picture below shows 586,000,000 Rials - If we use 2,000 Toomans (which is 20,000 Rials) for every dollar, then that's roughly $30,000, not $3,000 -
Also, it says "Gishe' No. 3" - I don't know whether that's a local result or total - In any event, this is just a good start - Like A Seed Money
BTW - One More Day Left - It's Thursday And Friday -
Great Cause, But
by jirandoust on Thu Aug 16, 2012 05:39 PM PDTaccording to the picture posted by R2-D2 so far the money collected is equivalent to $3,000 American. That's not much! I wish there was some organizations whom you could trust to send some money through them to our fellow Iranians victims of the earthquick. Anybody knows of such organization?
