 دیروز پنج شنبه و امروز جمعه ،بیست و هفتم مرداد،ستاد هنرمندان یاری رسان به آسیب دیدگان زلزلهء آذربایجان ،آقایان پرویز پرستویی ،کمال تبریزی ،رضا میر کریمی ، با همراهی و حضور هنرمندان تئاتر و سینما ،خانم ها و آقایان : رویا تیموریان ،فاطمه معتمد آریا ،رضا کیانیان ،مسعود رایگان ،همایون اسعدیان ،مجید مجیدی ،مهدی فخیم زاده ،حبیب رضائی و....در محل سینما آزادی تهران ، از ساعت 3 بعد از ظهر ،تا 12 شب ،جهت جمع آوری کمک های نقدی شما مهربانان ،حضور خواهند داشت.   تاکید میکنیم :فقط کمک های نقدی! ( محل جمع آوری کمک های نقدی سینما آزادی )

I think this is a fine gesture, as you mentioned, especially in view of the ineptitude that the government has shown in addressing people's needs - 

As I said, I hope this would set as a good example for all groups to do their private initiatives in fundraising - Again, especially for us in diaspora -

I think this is a new gesture and though the world was very helpful in the Bam earthquake and even a US Military KC-130 touched down in Iran and delivered needed items, I don't recall Iranian celebrities getting involved as much.

Perhaps they've faired well in the years past and in a better position, financially, and have access to news and how other countries react to their natural disasters.

The fundraising will continue until midnight tonight - I sincerely hope that this fundraising by our "Artists" would set an example for the rest of us - Especially, those in diaspora -

The picture below shows 586,000,000 Rials - If we use 2,000 Toomans (which is 20,000 Rials)  for every dollar, then that's roughly $30,000, not $3,000 - 

Also, it says "Gishe' No. 3" - I don't know whether that's a local result or total - In any event, this is just a good start - Like A Seed Money

BTW - One More Day Left - It's Thursday And Friday -

Great Cause, But

according to the picture posted by R2-D2 so far the money collected is equivalent to $3,000 American. That's not much! I wish there was some organizations whom you could trust to send some money through them to our fellow Iranians victims of the earthquick. Anybody knows of such organization?
