by yolanda on Tue Dec 29, 2009 12:56 AM PSTDear R2-D2,
Thank you! I noticed that Shams have some anti-IRI songs, but their female singers wear Hijabs....so I was not sure if they are based here or Iran.......I do like their singing, I like the male lead singer the most 'cause the guy has a great voice.....I also like the Persian instruments they play....it is super cool. I saved several of their videos.....my favorite one is "Cry of Freedom"....I have listened to that song many many times....that song blew me away.......I have a feeling they took down that song 'cause it is an anti-IRI song...hopefully IRI won't give them the hard time.
I am glad that you like some of the videos........this blog has whole bunch of videos , too:

Dear yolanda
by R2-D2 on Tue Dec 29, 2009 12:41 AM PSTThe Shams Ensemble, based on what I know, is actually based in Iran.
This is their Official website. If you scroll down the link that I gave above, it actually comes to that.
I saw some of the beautiful videos that you had posted at PT's most recent blog; I noticed that there was one from the Shams Ensemble too :) !!
Cheers

by yolanda on Sun Dec 27, 2009 10:35 AM PSTThank you for sharing. I saved the video...I also saved their video "Cry of Freedom", unfortunately it got removed from You-tube......but I did get a partial version of the song from a different video...I missed their concert in LA 'cause they sold out the tickets, the only tickets availble were for the San Francisco concert.
Are they based in Iran or outside Iran?
Thanks,
Delaram Banafsheh (Yolanda)
