by Roozbeh_Gilani on Wed May 25, 2011 08:21 PM PDTThank you peykar aziz, maryam gerami and dear masoud for comments.
Masoud, your comments on ghelichkhani are very true. I was too young to remember him as a player, but a political activist and popular figure for it, he sure is. Thanks again for the links

I remember that goal. :-)
Best,

P.S. Ghelichkhani is a man of principles. He does not sell himself to those in power. That is why people admire these heros.

by Paykar on Wed May 25, 2011 06:22 PM PDTI am glad you mentioned Ghelichkhani. No one can forget his goal from almost midfield vs. Australia in Mid 70's.
I have a personal memory, he attended an Ehya Confederation's convention in San Francisco for one day back in 78, I was lucky enough to have sat next to him. He was well educated politically( though I do not think he was a leftist at that time). Wish him the best because he truly deserves it.
Thanks Massoud.
Amir
Thanks
by Masoud Kazemzadeh on Wed May 25, 2011 05:55 PM PDTRoozbeh jaan and Amir jaan,
Thanks for the great blog and comment. Takhti was someone that no person before or after reached in terms of popularity among masses. I wish Hejazi had done more, especially in the past few years. I am grateful that in the past few months he publically criticized the regime.
In my opinion, Parviz Ghelichkhani is a true living hero. I like to see our people support a hero while he or she is alive rather than when they pass away.
Ghelichkhani was the Captain of our Team Melli and because of his opposition to the Shah’s dictatorship he was put in prison and was not allowed to play. Ghelichkhani continued his political activities against the VF regime as well. He is a leftist and also strongly supports Mossadegh and Fatemi and other democrats.

Shame on Akhoonds
by Maryam Hojjat on Wed May 25, 2011 03:58 AM PDTThese bastards using Iranians resources for their dirty/illigal projects. We IRANIANS must know better after 32 years to not follow anything which is supporting ISLAM & Akhoonds. I mean we must ban attendance in mosques & and Zeyart Khaneha and not pay for these BS which created by bunch of Sharlatan Tazis.

by Paykar on Wed May 25, 2011 02:20 AM PDTRight on Roozbeh. I was a kid when Takhti died, but I do remeber the awesome outpouring of grief and gratitude people displayed those days. The late Hejazi is of the same cloth. Masses know who their real heroes are.
