For our non-farsi speakers here is how wiki describes the use of the expression Zereshk (not the fruit) in a sentence

"In colloquial Persian, zereshk is used as a term for showing dissent or disagreement, similar to the usage of "blowing a raspberry" in English."

Is extremely versetile both from linguistic and culinary points of view! In Farsi if you respond  to an statement by someone by saying "zereshk", it is like saying "BS" in English.

Plus in farsi we (the lumpen classes!!) have a saying, translated into English:

"Zereshk has a seed- It's juice is tasty"

Now we use the same word for "seed" and "nucleus".

It must be now as clear as mud for you guys! But never mind, the ones I wrote this blog for, I am sure have read it, and thoroughly "enjoyed" it in silence :)

Looked it up, even found pictures of Zereshk polo, looks delicious. But where is the connection with IRI only RG knows.
