Why I Continue to Engage KS in Dialogue

To David ET: it's about Rosie's missionary role on "iranian.com"

This fuss is about Rosie's wanting to attract attention to herself. But more profoundly, it's about her colonialistic attitude toward my friend KS and all of us Iranians who come to this website.

Rosie is on this website as a civilizing missionary for the backward Iranians. She tells us how to behave, how to treat each other lovingly, how to all get along, how to heal our "wounded" selves, how to become whole, etc, etc. And she shows us off her knowledge of myths, archetypes, feminism, post-modernism, Kafka, Iranian history and traditions, Rumi and Hafez, psychology, politics, anthropology, astro-physics, you name it. She wants to impress us.

She preaches us to be "tolerant" of each other and "balanced" in our responses, yet as soon as you criticize her, she gets nasty and even vicious. She fought with "Nazanin" and myself (on another thread), simply because we criticized her. (She cleverly made her vitriolic statements to me deleted by a moderator). The lady does not like to be contradicted. She has no tolerance for anyone who does not admire her. She also has a temper. She needs anger management. She sympathizes with KS because she is exactly like him. She might not be antisemitic, but she behaves arrogantly toward us Iranians. She wants to educate us. She wants to pacify us. She wants to turn us into "civilized" people. She has the mentality of a colonizer. It's time for all of us to wake up. Why doesn't she behave like everybody else on this wesite? No one else is trying to save us from our "abyss" and "wounds"! Right?

I'd like to suggest to her to go back to her therapist and tell him/her that she has the "savior complex", that she is an "exhibitionist", that she is only "tolerant" of those who flatter her, that she suffers from "intolerance" and many other psychological issues. I hope she understands that many readers of "iranian.com" are offended by her colonialistic attitude. We've had enough of foreigners learning our language and culture, not to enjoy us for who we are, but to CHANGE us and MOLD us into what they think we should be. Enough is enough!

Look at Quran or Bible and how they blatantly say the non believers must be killed, mimed , tortured , burnt in hell , blah blah...and no one raises an eyebrow at these religions of peace!

and when a non-believer gives his/her opinion about Islam or whatever , everyone says HUSH HUSH and shouts "disrespect"

What about the violation of rights of the non-believers by believers? Should we ban the holy books for what they promote from stoning to killing and say HUSH HUSH too?

My whole life has been upside down by IRI,what are you talking about???My close friends have been killed and tortured by IRI,I have not seen my family for 24 years and all for being a Bahai! I did not pick arms against anyone and did not participate in any rallies,but still had to suffer because of my religion.My families belonging has been taken away ,I can not visit my fathers resting place. So many nights I cried myself to sleep wanting to see my mother,or hug my brothers.

But do you see me using profanity or calling some one F....ing this or that???like kafka or ks.

Mr Rashidian does not agree with us Bahais but he voices his remarks in the most peacefull manner,that is the way it should be.

I read your kind and thoughtful comments. It is very nice of you to be concerned about me and my family.

I guess through years, I have learnt to deal with this type of bad news coming from Iran. Unfortunately, it is really not the first time, and it is not the worst news, but still, it has made me nostalgic and fragile these days. But I will get over it, through the happy sight of my boys and the words of my understanding husband and the flow of my "sad" writings,...Do I have any other option? 

Actually, right now, I am more concerned about Rosie and KS, who are still alive.

In case you've missed it, he wishes "steel rain" on innocent people of Iran, and that's why people despise him. There are plenty of people on this website that are against islam & IRI, but they never wish death to innocent people, and that's what makes him really hated.

What is all the fuss about Kourosh S.? I have read many of his posts. So he hates Islam, he hates the IRI, he wants revenge.

So what? What's wrong with that? What's all the fuss?

There are hundreds of thousands of Iranians across the world that hate Islam and the IRI, even more, far more, than Kourosh S. does. And none of them are psychopaths. They are people whom the IRI with their version of Islam has and still is hurting them in untold ways. They all have legitimate cases.

I think most of you in this thread have very little exposure to Iranians who have been really hurt by the IRI. TRUST ME ON THAT. Hence the fuss.

I have read some of Kourosh Sasanian's posts that absolutely does not make any sense, it was as though he is thinking loud in a none-cohesive way. But so what? Many do the same in this stie. They call themselves poets. Kourosh S. does not even make that claim. That's all.

Iranian community to say that they are uncivilized and need to be educated. Rosie T. has never thought the Iranian community uncivilized or uneducated.

Rosie T. has also clearly stated in the past that the last thing Iran and Iranians need is to be colonized by anyone.

The Iranian community is civilized and a large portion of them is not only educated but has advanced degrees.

If you don't like KS fine but why project your dislike on Rosie T.

Well, I am done with this thread. I have more positive things to do with my time. I am certainly not taking any further abuse from some people on this thread simply because they hate KS.

I don't even get along with the guy. I think I get enough abuse from him already.

I like your viewpoints and quality of contributions in many instances, but why should your feelings towards a cyber characater be given a blog? Can you imagine if we all did that, what would happen to the quality of the site? I love your wisdom. I loved your post. I especially loved the summers in Astara.

One of my aunts still lives in Astara. My grandparents lived there and we visited them each summer. Astara was an isolated world from the rest of Iran. I loved the calm way the Caspian sea flowed and the way the beauty of its nature, its green nature, smelled.

These days I am down, pretty down, but not angry or hateful. But your words, even if addressed to someone blinded with hatred and sorrow, reminded me of my childhood vacation in Astara, when my grandparents were still alive, and my father and the neighbor who made the best pastry in the world -- The one I couldn't understand her accent.-- The good times when my aunt was still happy and had high hopes for his boys...the times when my cousin was still alive.

yes, I am going --fast -- down the nostalgia path, every time I am almost certain that I have already gone beyond this pain, that I am used to it.

Like KS...I am sure he is just hurt, too hurt. Sometimes I feel that there is a KS in each of us, each Iranian in Diaspora. That's why he has different names. It is our different faces, our internal struggle. The eternal fight between good and bad. But each of these faces share the same pain, like their common link. I cannot really condemn Ks, as long as I share some of his pain. How could I?

Maybe Rosie, you should forgive him, because of his pain. And the rest? It's better to listen from one ear and forget about it from the other one (Az in goosh beshno Va az Aan goosh Faramoosh kon.)
