Bio

Masoud Shafaee is an attorney and freelance analyst based in Washington, D.C. He holds a Juris Doctor from American University's Washington College of Law and a Master's degree in international affairs from the School of International Service, where he wrote his thesis on the role of social networks in Iranian social movements (1979, 1999, 2009). He has written for the Guardian, World Politics Review, and the Huffington Post, among other publications. He also maintains The Newest Deal, a blog which covers Iranian affairs.
