by Kurdish Warrior (not verified) on Thu May 14, 2009 12:21 AM PDTI'm totally against divided Iran which I have stated in earlier blogs. But you have to understand that federalism is not separation but a tool to unite us and make us stronger as one nation. unfortunatly many don't see it that way because of lack of research. Look at Switzerland where Italians, french and germans live side by side as one nation and each their language/culture are practiced and respected. Its extremely stable political system is based on federalism. If you do more research you'll see that at least majority of iranian Kurds support this idea. I'm sure others do too but then again I can't talk on behalf them.

In the last hundred years Iran has never been democratic because we had dictatorship in Iran and ALL Iranians, NOT ONLY MINORITIES, have been denied their rights and suffered in the same way. I don't know where you got your million of others that share the same view with you in regard of federalism.
The only thing that all Iranians want is freedom and a democratic Iran for all Iranians and not a divided Iran!
PS: one part of me is from Kermanshah and the other part from Tabriz!

by Kurdish Warrior (not verified) on Wed May 13, 2009 03:57 PM PDTWe already had Shah (secular) and other groups were still counted as second class citizen. Democratic Secular sounds very good, but having only that, is not practical on the ground. For the last hundred years Iran has never been democratic and minorities have been denied their rights and suffered the most. Federalism together with secularism is the only way for us to move forward in order to have free Iran. This is not just my view but million of others. If you don't believe me , you should do some more research.

Although we Iranians from all ethnicities have shown in the past that we always are ready to defend our beloved Iran with our blood and will do it in the future too , but we should take care(!) of the seperatist groups which are non-iranians vatanforosh.

by Qui-est (not verified) on Wed May 13, 2009 09:14 AM PDTThe only way around all plots is to get rid of the master plot hatched in 1979. As long as IRI is in place, iran is going backwards, giving opportunities to all enemies.
A progressive iran can only remain unified, strong, and prosperous. And that is NOT possible as long as mullas rules who put interests of arabs above interests of iranians.
Lanat bar khomeini va jomhouri eslami, the enemies of iran.
It was just a month ago that palestinian leader told a lananese newspaper that iran had recently donated $250 million to palestinians; that is while orphan children of Bam are still living in tents since the earthquake few years back.

by Mort Gilani on Wed May 13, 2009 06:47 AM PDTThis is the scare tactic that Islamic Republic uses when it senses a serious threat to its regime. I used to hear about the separation of Iran when the price of oil was low in the second half of 1990’s. The claim at the time was that Iran would break like the Soviet Union. It did not happen then, and it will not happen in the future if the Islamists in Iran are dethroned. The Islamic Republic is running out of petro dollar and has nothing else to keep Iranians quiet. So, it is resorting to creating a climate of fear to change the conversation of regime change.
Without the yoke of Islamist yahoos, Iran will blossom to a functioning democracy not a land in thousands pieces as shown in the map above.

In those days were some poeple who are worried now when they hear or read about dividing daydreams of the in its death bed laying very very weak satan were busy with their own plans of deserting the front. I can convince every body who is onestly worried: The Islamic Republic of Iran can not be divided. with no satanic power. However i do not see any satanic powere in today world. the united states of america reports: 9% jobless americans, most of them live with lunchpackets fron welfare. It is up to americans to demand the same from their government as the Iranian nation demands from it since 30 years. And Irae world in this sence. last not least: dont worry, be happy. Massoud and MEHRNAZ SHAHABI
by Kurdish Warrior (not verified) on Wed May 13, 2009 02:05 AM PDTThe only way to defeat small separatist groups who have very little/none support inside Iran is to have our country become a secular federal Iran after this regime. That way, there won't be any room for any groups advocating separation. A federal iran is the ideal model where all would enjoy their individual/cultural rights. And that all will feel as 1st class citizen.
Dear Masoud, Secret Funding by the US Congress
by MEHRNAZ SHAHABI on Wed May 13, 2009 01:40 AM PDTI wrote this in Maryam Hodjat's blog but leave it here too because it is equally pertinent:
by MEHRNAZ SHAHABI on Wed May 13, 2009 01:35 AM PDT
Dear Maryam, thanks for bringing this to attention and she should certainly be asked to clarify further!!! As a matter of fact, as someone else says on this thread, she has only spoken the truth. Disintegration of Iran, as part of the destabilisation plans and regime overthrow, has been on the US agenda for quite some time.
Seymour Hersch, veteran US journalist, exposed the secret funding by the Bush administration which was approved secretly by the Congress to carry out this campaign of destabilisation which included training, funding, arming dissident groups including ethnic minorities and separatist movements to create an atmosphere of terror in Iran which would lead to regime overthrow and disintegration. There is no doubt tiny rat republics are much more easily manageable than that beautiful proud large cat of ours.
Here is the link to Semour Hersh's July 08 article in the New Yorker
//www.newyorker.com/reporting/2008/07/07/080707fa_fact_hersh
He says:
"Clandestine operations against Iran are not new. United States Special Operations Forces have been conducting cross-border operations from southern Iraq, with Presidential authorization, since last year". ...
"The covert activities involve support of the minority Ahwazi Arab and Baluchi groups [Jundollah] and other dissident organizations. They also include gathering intelligence about Iran’s suspected nuclear-weapons program".
These include Azari groups as well as,
"The Kurdish party, PJAK, which has also been reported to be covertly supported by the United States, has been operating against Iran from bases in northern Iraq for at least three years. (Iran, like Iraq and Turkey, has a Kurdish minority, and PJAK and other groups have sought self-rule in territory that is now part of each of those countries.)". PJAK is also armed and trained by Israel.
Please read the whole article if you have not previously, it is extremely informative. There is no indication that under the current Obama administration, the US funding of 400 million dollars approved by the Congress for destabilisation, regime change and disintegration has been withdrawn!! This is Hersh's interview with Amy Goodman in Alternet: //www.alternet.org/audits/89963/
"The plan allowed up to $400 million in covert spending for activities ranging from supporting dissident groups to spying on Iran's nuclear program".
Some food for thought ...
