English Translation Version #1
******************************
Human beings are members of a whole,
******************************In creation of one essence and soul.
If one member is afflicted with pain,
Other members uneasy will remain.
If you have no sympathy for human pain,
The name of human you cannot retain.
English translation verson #2
******************************
Of One Essence is the Human Race,
Thusly has Creation put the Base.
One Limb impacted is sufficient,
For all Others to feel the Mace.
The Unconcern'd with Others' Plight,
Are but Brutes with Human Face.
******************************
President Obama quoted Saadi's poem in his videotaped Nowruz' speech:
The children of Adam are limbs of each other
Having been created of one essence.
When the calamity of time afflicts one limb
The other limbs cannot remain at rest.
If you have no sympathy for the troubles of others
You are not worthy to be called by the name of "man".
*******************************
Sa'adi's love poem in Farsi and English, deeply touching! I wish the lady in the video wore more clothes. If the 2 videos should not be here, please let me know, I can take them down.

by yolanda on Sat Jan 23, 2010 07:45 PM PSTHi! R2-D2,
Thank you! I like your videos. 2 days ago, after you posted Rumi's Seven Advice in English, I found 4 different versions of Seven advice on you-tube. I saved 2 other versions before, so there are at least 6 versions of Seven advice. I am not surprised by why so many people like the Seven advice! It is absolutely cool and universal!!! I will load the 4 videos in Massoud's previous blog later.
Hi! Massoud,
Thank you so much for your daily poem and beautiful Farsi calligraphy!
You're Welcome Yolanda :)
by R2-D2 on Sat Jan 23, 2010 07:20 PM PSTActually, I got the idea of posting videos in Massoud's blogs from you, when you were doing it in PT's blogs :)
I hope that you would continue posting videos in Massoud's blogs also - If you are not sure about the theme of the poems, then just post videos which are similar to theme to those of mine. I try to post videos which resonate with Massoud's Poems :)
Looking forward to your videos,
R2-D2
