It is true that this while indeed very nebulous can still be a thought but I prefer to say perhaps, because that may not work with the definition of " thought" or it is better said that, " it depends" and that is if we define thought as it is defined " in the dictionary !
I do not think and yet here I am ....
What I am trying to say is that it is perhaps possible that both thinking or NOT thinking cause this statement to be true but the key here is not thinking or not thinking ( thoughts) It actually is the use of the words " I " and " AM " and " Here " ..... that acknowledgment is awareness that does not require even any thoughts ... that comes naturally ... But With or without thoughts, where this sense of impersonal presence comes from? Now, let me throw one more question here. How do we know that the one who is in a vegetative state does not have the sense of impersonal presence? What about the one who is dead? Does the " I ", aka sense of impersonal presence, still carry on after death? If so then we are aware and we are going to be somewhere ! With or Without Thoughts ! Ok ... We may .... Perhaps ... : )
The only present 'I' of the uni('I')verse is GOD alone who created it himself. Everything else is just within that 'I'. Everything, dead or alive per our definitions. Since the so called science can't ever explain where things like 'thinking,' 'thoughts,' and 'awareness' come from without denying the presence and/or the absence of any other 'I' except that of absolute/ever 'I' any related discussions will be merely frivolous.
Demo, Interesting comment ... thank you ....
I think The sense of impersonal presence is shared among all of us and it is connected to the " I " in Un I verse ....so we are actually one ... or at least started as one ....
Some see this as one whole big thing ... universe inside universe till eternity ... so we are already there ... I, however, think we have to work hard to get there cause we have been detached by becoming Mortal ! We are mortal ! That makes sense if you look to the story of Adam and Eve, then you see their disobedience what was that caused their Mortality.. They were being kicked out of the state of being immortal which they initially were. So based on that story, after their disobedience they instantly became mortal and they could have been vanished forever ... for good , but, they instead were given the reproductive organs. Something that they did not have before or they did not have noticed it before. And, then ,they noticed that their only way to beat this mortality is through their progenies ! Among these progenies only those who are aware can be become attached again ! and as the result become immortal once again ... Perhaps ! : )
I think our brain is not wired to answer all the questions ... I have hard time accepting God has created himself ... You seems to know Quran ... I do not think so anywhere in Quran it is mentioned that God has created himself ! am I wrong ?
Discussing different ideologies and school of thoughts on the subject of God, universe and existence is what that fascinates me..... Not necessarly being a follower of a specific one but someone who tries to make sense out of any of the above !
Thanks for your courteous feedback.
A few points briefly:
You are right about Quran regarding the state of GOD's own creation. Nowhere such mentioned there, of course. Neither Bible nor Quran is about understanding who GOD is and how he came about but both are to recognize his omnipresence, omnipotence and omniscience. Our brains are not even wired in such way to understand what the word 'omni' means by itself & that is why we mostly turn to omens instead to run away from our creator!
Flesh is mortal & not the 'soul.' And there is much difference between 'soul' & 'spirit.' Each soul is returned to GOD after our mortals death, for instance, but 'spirit' is that of GOD only, present in every so-called 'live' soul and acts upon GOD's will exclusively.
So little time, so little knowledge of us as humans to explore these GODly issues!
May GOD forgive me if any mistake made above. Amen. .

Faramarz, Santa does not deliever to the Naughty ones !
Dude have a extra shot of whatever good stuff you having bro. I think this chritmas all i am getting is chayi sheereen and abdookhyar. oh and some more yaraneh:))
good point ...... time for the second question to be thrown out !
What will happen to the impersonal sense of existence when one is drunk ?
Let me tell you soosan jooon that...let my life tell it to you.
Ok. so. dees impersonal mimpersonal sense that you say about ...it all is up to agha. you look. understand? when you drink this najesi that amoo faramarz calles it booboon or something...it sheelings your mind ok? when that happens all the personal mersonal o impersonal o mimpersonal miseh chi?? aha. out the window.
briefly. you must forget about yourself and become thinking about agha and islam. okie dokie artichokie? no more philosophy weaving and stuff. these are "khafang" stuff. you need to become a faithful "seh sooteh".
u need to think about bread that hoeny-dew is water!
what is "seh sooteh"? what does it mean? no clue .. Is that Greek !
I do no think so my lips ever has touched alcohol . I so cherish my sense of impersonal existence and needs to be attached agian ! ..... Unless, I am trapped in an airplane, and being a little bit claustophobic which I am, then a glass of wine would be great, but, I even resist that and instead I rather switch to some Beta Blockers !
P.S .... keep up with the chayee sheereen that does you more good than any so called good stuff ! lol
Not "perhaps," SK! And here's why. You become aware of being without a thought when something triggers that awareness. That something is called, a thought or thinking.
and one more thing , When it comes to Philosophy always throw somewhere the word " Perhpas " .. you know Philosophy can be very much tricky ! if Perhpas did not work the best next thing would be " I do not know "
I think that " something" is the sense of impersonal existence and is independent of the thought ... please look my comment above i tried to explain it in more detail ... by the way, I liked her comment too !
