AmirParviz:

- Islamic Fundamentalism is also playing the same role as the Soviet Union for the benefit of the West, not only externally, but also for their internal policy-making and suppression of their own populations. The West constantly needs an enemy in order to suppress and survice. The West either strengthen the elite enemy or create it from scratch as in the case of Al-Ghaidah

America is directly responsible for these Islamists facists taking control over Egypt, if anyone wants to know why , you should read "The Redirection" (2007) by Seymour Hersh.

Dear Sweet,
The outside influence is secondary factor. The primary function for direction of any society is within it's political system. It is social-economic mal-functioning which creates political turmoil. Outside manipulation may be affective in some extend but it is not deteminating factor. "Class struggle" and "oppression" is the primary function for any social changes.

amirparvizforsecularmonarchy I Love Waterfalls and Find One of the most humorous things in the world; is the notion that Americans are a greater force for good & more civilized than Nazi's, Mullahs and Communists.

Not only the USA, the UK, France and Germany are all using all the power at their disposal to make this happen.

The west loves extremism for everyone else, just not for themselves and we still have plenty of Iranians olagollahis that are licking Western Derrier, denying their involvement in supporting extremism, in hopes of striking oil maybe???? I don't know. Just keep licking guys. Typically those who are not sticking to the truth of explaining the policy being committed are anti-monarchists and anti-pahlavi's that part I don't understand, care to explain why????

Thanks Azadeh jan for informative blogs, I keep following your blogs and they're all interesting to read.
"Class oppressions" and "Class struggles" appear in a form of religious fundamentalism throughout the M.E.
Corrupted Mobarak's Generals were wealthy. Too much class differences between poor and rich. The beach area by the name of "Sharm al shakh resort" belonged to all those wealthy people. On the other hand, majority Egyptians were poor. They were literary starving. They were living below poverty line. Such a contradiction leaded to a disaster we are witnessing these days.. With elimination of socialist block from the political scene worldwide, the islamic fundamentalism substituted for the wishes of deprived masses. Nowadays, deprived people of third world countries see justice, equality and their ideals in the form of religious fanatic. The form of potical wave is religion, but content of political wave is poverty. The great wish for equality, justice and better lives. The question is : what will be the impact of Islamic fundamentalism on Syria? Does it have a positive impact or helping Sunni fundamentalism take power in Syria? What will be happens if Sunni like muslim brotherhood take power in Syria.? How about Iraq? with rise of 2 countries running by Sunni fundamentalism, what would be happend to Iraq which is running mostly by shia? Which target would be the next? Iraq? Looks like M.E is facing real tragedy in near future. Poor U.S and it's allians who are inable to do anything about it. That is so called "historical determination".

Syria will definitely be a powerful force against shia fundamentalism if Assad is toppled and if the Sunni jihadist take all the levers of power in their hand.

Siavash America is directly responsible for this new direction the Middle East is going through, read "The Redirection" (2007) by Seymour Hersh.

Tragic. I find it sad the grief and loss Egyptians are going to be experiencing as a result of extremism will not only make Egyptians lives painful/tyrannical, but will make all our worlds darker. Helping extremism and portraying some terrorists like the muslim brotherhood as good because they serve US/French/UK politics is the tragedy of our day. It certainly puts the western values in a worse light as it clarifies even for the most anti-intellectual among us the lies and hypocrisy of the west against civilization and human rights.

AshkanJahani

AshkanJahani Nietzche summed it best.

I have a theory: they are building an Islamic Egypt to take the throne from Iran (the throne of being the ME's major fundamentalist power). Soon Iran will lose the fervour it has and it will liberalize, it will have better relations with the US and Israel, meaning they need a new enemy- Egypt.

You are 100% correct, America is helping these Islamists fundamentalist to get in power in Egypt, Syria, etc..Read "The Redirection" (2007) by Seymour Hersh.

Dear Dr Azadeh Azad
Unfortunately Alia's and her friend's naked pictures did not make much difference either.
Perhaps as a sociologist ans psychologist you could shed some light on how situation can be improved.

So the majority in Egypt voted and they have brought this on themselves. No more argument ....right ? No , that is not right and here is my argument ...

The right of Majority is not Democracy that is a Republic. Democracy is the right of individuals. In a republic once majority vote then it becomes a law of land which then can deny the individual rights ... I think UN and international organizations should update and upgrade themselves from embarrassing " Republics " to embarrassing " Democracy" .... Needless to say that U.S is also a republic only. Cause if it was a democracy we would not be seeing stupid abortion laws or ban on gay marriage and the most important of all banning and / or causing so much restrictions for the stem cell research !

Thanks for the blog!
