Some Tips on how to post in New Iranian.com

Balatarin

 1. Sign into new IDC using your previous username of old IDC; do not use any space: "Friendly Notes" becomes FriendlyNotes, "Red-Wine" becomrs RedWine, and "Shazde Asdole Mirza" becomes ShazdeAsdoleMirza.

2. Click on gear icon, and on your account settings answer the questions and save.

3. On edit your profile/Tell us about yourself answer the first 5 questions as they fit you and on Bio Box write a short note on your profile + a motto.

4. On location box put down where you live and on Gender and Birthday boxes, you may respond or skip them.

5. On Photo, click on Photo, and insert a pic link from "My Pictures" in your own PC, and click on Browse.

6. On Add a URL, insert a link of your Legacy like this  http://legacy.iranian.com/main/member/X

7. X is the original username of old IDC. Example: friendly-notes, shazde-asdola-mirza, soosan-khanoom, and red-wine. Save "Tell us about yourself".

8. If you write the name of a person as @+the username of new IDC, the system will notify that person right away and lead him/her directly to your comment/question.

9. In posting your materials (text, news, etc.), before signing into new IDC click Farsi or English button on top of the page depending in what language is your post.

10. Never use a foul language. If you are against any view no need of swear or profanity.

11. If you edit your post your Traffic Icon would restart from zero; no matter what was the number of visitors to your post before your edit.

12. If you know of more tips please share

Simply login and click the "Following" button found at the top of the page below the content creation palette and to the right of the "Everyone" button.

TIP # 13
======
You can use the Block feature found below a users avatar to prevent him/her from posting comments on your published blog or news items. To block a user, please find a comment that they have left on a blog or news item that you have created. To the left of their comment is their avatar and below it is a Block function.

also, you can manage your "blocked" list (ie unblocking members that you have blocked), from the "settings" page (http://iranian.com/users/settings).

there might be a bug with that function (checking), but in theory once a user is "blocked" he/she will be prevented from posting a comment on any of your blogs or news items.

Given some of the layout changes and other tweaks being made, I will refrain from posting tips that will soon be obsolete. However, here are a few tips:

Why "Follow" a user? Following a user allows you to solely view content from your favorite blogger(s) in a one column format.

How do you follow a user? Go to their profile page, and click the "Follow" button found below their avatar.

How can I view content from the bloggers that I chose to follow? Simply login and click the "Following" button found at the top of the page below the content creation palette and to the right of the "Everyone" button.

Additional perk when following a member: when you begin to write the name of a person as @+the username an auto suggestion list of members that you follow is automatically generated. At that point, instead of writing out their username, you can simply scroll and select their username from the drop down.

More to come in the coming days...

It'd be good if you are following someone you can follow their comments as well, not just the contents they've posted.

Hello Siavash, per FriendlyNotes' response, there is no such option.
