After 34 years of ruling over Iran and Iranians, time is at hand for getting down to the nitty-gritty of Islamic life in the modern world.
Now that everything is hunky-dory, Islamic economy is working as intended, Islamic social restrictions have eliminated vice and other ills and so on and so forth, time has come to attend to one of the pillars of Islam, prayer.
And air travel conflicting with 5 times a day prayer will not do, ergo, the new directive issued by Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization:
“all aircraft will be prohibited from flying across the country during the Adhan [Azan], or call to prayer…”
Considering all the different Azan times in different cities in Iran, if you are wondering about the possible scheduling complications given the wheels of modern world spin at a different speed, let say, from 1400 hundred years ago, you are not alone, Rick Gladstone of NY Times is wondering about the same thing.
This is another harebrained scheme, a specialty of the godly folks ruling over Iran for the past 34 years.
