The internet and new technologies have certainly been a double sided sword. It has enabled the masses to communicate much easier while has given the government as well as the companies an unprecedented access to our personal life and behaviors.

Many of us, often unknowingly, offer a lot of personal information which will inevitably be available and shared with public without our explicit consent.

Knowledge is power..over people! that's why our gov (& probably not the only gov) is paying FB, GOOG, ATT, etc to sell them their cust or user's data; companies themselves are bearing fruit of having & accumulating this info. What is alarming is the number of these entities that collect these data which can be abused & misused by crooks embedded in all these orgs particularly the gov. A day is not passes that we don't hear about corruption and abuse of power by US Gov officials (including congress & their cronies), State Gov's, police forces, armed forces, etc etc. Human nature is corruptible to begin with & the level corruption increases by many folds as they are more powerful or wealthier. I am ashamed of being a human.
