amirparvizforsecularmonarchy I Love Waterfalls and Find One of the most humorous things in the world; is the notion that Americans are a greater force for good & more civilized than Nazi's, Mullahs and Communists.

The article brought up some good points regarding the mullahs actions and their hatred for freedom and choice. It was one of the few articles that shone light on the truth, which would help an educated person be informed correctly that the late shah was one of the most democratic leaders in the last century, supporting women's right to vote and equality for women in life choices and opportunities. However it used these points, with shaytanat, to lie and deceive the reader. Reagan was not tough with the IRI, he fully supported the IRI while giving lip service to the late shah, he supplied the IRI with advanced weapons and encouraged their hold on power by helping the IRI in prolonging a war and like all US administrations he covertly used all the power of the USA to help keep the IRI. This by the way is what Obama is doing as it is really the USA that loves this type of Islam for the entire region and these crimes against peoples human rights are being first and foremost supported by the USA both Republican and Democrat alike.

The marriage age for girls was lowered to 9, in accordance with Shariah law. Only after years of protest from Iranian women’s rights activists and international organizations was it raised to 13. Polygamy is now permitted and is, in fact, encouraged by the government. Women also have lost their right to divorce their husbands.

It only gets worse. In November, a newly proposed law passed the Islamic parliament’s Committee on National Security. The original language of the law banned women under the age of 40 from obtaining a passport and traveling abroad without the consent of a husband or male guardian. The committee not only approved the law, paving the way for a full parliament vote, but went one step further and removed the clause limiting it to women younger than 40.

If this law passes, Iran will become a country just like Saudi Arabia, where half of the population is quietly held hostage by the other half. It goes without saying that this law blithely contradicts the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, of which Iran is a signatory.
