One can neither understand nor justify the rationale behind the intervention or interference of David Rockefeller/Henry Kissinger duo in US' foreign affairs at that critical moment of time? Resulting, as you correctly stated, the hostage taking fiasco!
One wonders whether or not it had been the billions $ of embezzled Pahlavi loot deposited In David Rockefeller’s Chase Manhattan Bank that had inspired that or there were other more humanistic reason(s) behind that unwise and catastrophic decision? When the outcome was not hard to foresee and consequential!

1. These scholars then traveled to the Paris Peace Conference, 1919 that would end the war; it was at one of the meetings of a small group of British and American diplomats and scholars, on May 30, 1919, at the Hotel Majestic, that both the Council and its British counterpart, the Chatham House in London, were born.

2. The Council on Foreign Relations, a sister organization to the Royal Institute of International Affairs in London (commonly known as Chatham House), was formed in 1922 as a noncommercial, nonpolitical organization supporting American foreign relations. From its inception the Council was bipartisan, welcoming members of both Democratic and Republican parties. It also welcomed Jews and African Americans, although women were initially barred from membership.

3. In November 1979, while chairman of the CFR, David Rockefeller became embroiled in an international incident when he and Henry Kissinger, along with John J. McCloy and Rockefeller aides, persuaded President Jimmy Carter through the State Department to admit the Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, into the US for hospital treatment for lymphoma. This action directly precipitated what is known as the Iran hostage crisis and placed Rockefeller under intense media scrutiny (particularly from The New York Times) for the first time in his public life.

please do not forget the British and the Russians came to an agreement on Iran, early in the last century - it is called the Anglo-Russian Entente which has been dictating ALL Iranian internal and international politics for over 100 years - with the exception of the 35 years after WW2 due to the American armed forces presence in Iran. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anglo-Russian_Entente

دوست گرامی جواد آقا: امید است در کار و تحصیل موفق باشی، آمریکا شاید تنها کشور دنیاست که هنوز در آن امکان موفقیت و خلاقیت با کمترین موانع در اختیار هر انسانی قرار میگیرد. در مورد نوشتن فارسی، اگر هر ایرانی در خارج از وطن هر روز صبح و یا در اولین فرصت سعی کند یک شعر فارسی را در ذهنش بخواند و یا لغات آنرا مجسم کند و در اولین فرصت حالا چه از طریق ایمیل و یا بلاگ و یا پاسخ به یک بلاگ لااقل یک جمله فارسی بنویسد، او خدمت بزرگی به ایران، بخود و هموطنان و فرهنگش کرده است. انسان تا زبان مادری خود را بطور شیوا نیاموخنه و فرا نگیرد، بسختی خواهد توانست که زبان خارجی را از سطح زبان مادریش بهتر فراگیرد، مگر آنکه در طفولیت از کشورش خارج شده باشد. از نوشتن بزبانن مادری شرمسار نباشید و همانطور که عرض شد لااقل روزی یک جمله در همین ایرانیان دات کام بنویسید حتی اگر غلط باشد و حتی اگر کسی از شما عیب بگیرد. ایرانیان باید بدانند که دشمنان ایران نیز فارسی را بخوبی فرامیگیرند و گوشه های فرهنگی ما را مو بمو مطالعه میکنند، تا بهتر بما حکومت کنند
