The Republic of Azerbaijan will take Zanjan, Gilan, West and East Azerbaijan, Qom, Mazandaran, and Qazvin.
Kurdistan, autonomous in Iraq and Syria, will secede from Iran and take with it Luristan, forming the Free Republic of Kurdistan. Turkey will not be affected.
Turkmenistan will take half of Khorasan.
Baluchistan will separate from Iran and Pakistan and form its own state, Iran's Persian Republic will fight an intense war allied with Pakistan that will end with a UN Ceasefire.
Hormozgan and Khuzestan will become the Persian Gulf Emirate.
What will be left of Iran is a husk, robbed of resources and primed to be a pipeline state with no real power to stand in the way of Western interests.
And this is ALL possible due to Iranian lack of solidarity and our tendency for betrayal.

ReportI have a few book suggestions for the next month on top of Joseph Anton:
- Crude World by Peter Maas
- Shi'ism by Hamid Dabashi
- History of the Persian Empire by AT Olmstead

ReportHow about government's consistent killing and suppression of Iranian people for the past thirty four years?
What do you think is promoting these prevalent attitudes of cynicism and non-responsibility, currently dominant in Iranian culture?
There's no lack of solidarity in Iran. There's actually quite a lot of it there.
It just somehow fails to organize at a national level, and remains a cluster of unconnected protests and acts of local solidarity.
P.S. How did you like that Pipelinestan article?

ReportOf course what the government has done is bad, but it's part and parcel of what will lead to Balkanization, which has been chosen by the oil companies and lobbies in power as the final solution to the Iranian question. I think we should all decide which mini-republic of Iran we will choose to side with and later reside in afterwards.
I'm torn between Kurdistan (which will probably be poor and filled with war for a while), the Republic of Persia, and the rich and burgeoning Republic of Greater Azerbaijan.

P.S. How about starting that "Joseph Anton" thing on February 14th, Valentine's Day.
That is also the day Khomeini gave his fatwa against "Satanic Verses" and Rushdie. Does that give enough time?
Pepe Escobar, the guy that wrote "Pipelinestan" is a great writer. We could have him after Rushdie?
