So what if there is a deev (demon) who is a female. Iranian old religion has male and female demons as well as male and female angels.

The Iranian God of fertility (God of Water, mother of all water) is the Ardevisura Anahita (Nahid) that was one of the most revered gods in the old Iran and from there entered other cultures. She is described as powerful, shining, tall, beautiful and free.

The following comparison between Avesta and Quran may help you understand why Giti longs for her own culture and values.

مردان باید بر زنان مسلط باشند چرا که خداوند بعضی از انسانها را بر بعضی دیگر برتری بخشیده است،.... زنانی را که از نافرمانیشان بیم دارید باید نصیحتشان کنید و در خوابگاهها از آنان دوری کنید و آنان را بزنید. (سوره نسا آیه 34 .)

مقایسه این دو آیین و ارزش زن در آنها با شما.

Translations (sorry for poor translations)

Avesta:

Religion in general is rife with zan-setizi. It exists to keep the power structure in place. However, nothing of substance has been created to replace it. As I told you before, I was born into a Shia family, as my bad luck would have it. I don't believe what you say, but if you have a broken relationship with your mother (whatever she believes) it is your duty as her child to repair that relationship. Dear Mahvash: Yes, I agree with you; that's why I decided to publish it. However, I know you agree with me that the poet's National Chauvinism (which I have discussed with her) is unreasonable. To praise our national heritage, we do not have to, and should not, set it against other cultures and peoples. All organized religions are misogynistic, albeit much less when it comes Zoroastrianism, as the latter is rather a continuation of pre-patriarchal and rmultitheistic cults that were more concerned with the rhythms of nature than with society. ~ Have a nice day :-)

What struck me about the poem was that it describes the story of creation in Mithraism which incidentally I was teaching in my class the day before in a relatively short and simple way. It is fascinating. Besides that, I agree with what you said eloquently. I, personally, came to this conclusion that all the prophets are self-appointed. If it were the other way around as some people believe then why should the Creator discriminate against one sex over another?
