I believe the future of central asia is for a Union to be established with Iran and Turkey at its core...sort of like the way France and Germany set up the European Union.

I see nations - 300 Million Asians - that have intertwining historical, economic and cultural heritages - all linked in some fashion to Iran and Turkey....Persian and Turkish cultures...with of course many other elements added.

I see a market that is so huge, yet so undeveloped that it would make any multinational company's mouth froth with opportunity. And I see tremendous means for elevating the living standards of disparate forgotten souls all the way from Tajikestan to Pakistan to Iran and Turkey.  

All the 'stans' if you will - United - under one Union, standing side by side as one of the 12 new Unions that will become the core of a future United Nations Security Council - when the UN is finally reformed. The European Union, The African Union, China, India, The United States, Russia, The Arab Union, MERCOSUR Union, ASEAN Union, Canada (because of its huge land mass), and the Median Union (of Central Asia)....

I see a new Capital on the Caspian Sea - called Media (where Turkmenbasy is today - the recently renamed Caspian Sea port; or if NOT, the Capital could be Mashhad in Iran or Herat in Afghanistan!!) That new capital will shine as the political center of a union - with democratically elected officials, from secular democratic member states.

A new currency the Median Unit ("M") will take hold - based on the WOCU today (the world currency   unit) - valued and established as a blend of currencies based on the value of currencies which the Median Union trades - 26% Dollar, 24% Euro, 12% Ruble, 18% Chinese Yuan, 10% Indian Rupee, 10% Dinar. Surely every central bank in the world will want to keep its foreign reserves in Median Banks!

I see highways, railways, airports, telecom lines - all linking these nations into fierce customs free trading partners. I see major institutions like a Median Supreme court, Median Parliament, Median Executive Branch guaranteeing the rule of law and a sound foundation for peace and commerce throughout th region.

I see social and cultural exchange. Googoosh on Median Television, MediaVision song contest, a Median Poetry Contest, a Median Film Awards, a Median Champions League, A Median Olympics ...

I also see a Union committed to the peace and prosperity of mankind. A key partner in the global effort to colonize Mars, to innovate new drugs, new appliances, new technology to harvest food and energy ...for mankind. Surely, the world is missing out on the creative talents of these 300 Million Asians today! That is a real loss!!

I know I might be dreaming, but its a vision that we can all rally arround. Next time an Israeli talks about support for Azeri sepratists, I hope Azeris, Iranians, Turks, Tajiks, Afghans, Turkmen, Baluchis, Pashtu's ...every Central Asian turns arround and says ...dude... Balkan states are not our model for the future, our model is to UNITE and create a new Union that can sit proudly side by side with India, China, the U.S., the European Union .... you name it. We all know pride and prosperity comes from Unity - not division!!!
