He is getting better and better. I am glad that he enforced that the change has to come from within. I think the only thing that Iranian inside and outside need is a leadership that they can trust and who would give them hope. The resulting energy that it would create would bring IRI down in matter of days. If foreign powers want to help Iran become democratic as RP said, then the best help that they can give Iranian is to support an all encompassing leadership. Shame that a huge community of Iranian diaspora has not been able to do that.

Yes, Yes, Indeed! As only & only a 'Divaneh' could tell if another 'Divaneh' is getting better or worse!

It is great that he is getting seriously involved. It shows that things are coming together finally. I also agree with him that the west should clearly state that the purpose of the crippling sanctions is not to change the "behavior" of the Regime, but rather the Regime itself. That will reassure the Iranian people that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Also, I wish that he would be more forceful about stating that Iran's next constitution should clearly be aligned with the Universal Declaration of the Human Rights. As we have seen in Egypt, a vote by the majority does not necessarily guarantee the rights of the women or the minorities.

Precisely, if sanctions are to just modify the behavior of the Islamist Rapists, they should be lifted yesterday.
The only worthy cause for which Iranian people would be more than willing to endure the airtight sanctions would be when it is aimed to topple the Islamist Rapists, "reformers" and all.
Also agree totally with the Universal declaration of Human rights as foundation for the next constitution.

Fred you may be right, that the IRI will stick its middle finger up and say reform my ass. As much as I don't like the regime, if it opens itself to transparency and to all lawful candidates, secularizes its structure and holds its leaders accountable for crimes committed then we should all 100% prefer that option. So yes cosmetic modification is not enough, but real reform if done is the best of all.

The real problem is from both sides. The regime doesn't want to reform, the west doesn't want an Independent movement that brings freedom and democracy for Iran. If the west stops suppressing people movements from within Iran as his majesty is advocating in favor of and would hold dialogue with them and give them media attention only then these grass roots powers that would arise would be Independent of the west.

The west is not going to support an Independent Iranian solution for Iran and neither are the mullahs.

Here is another interview by Reza Pahlavi with Andisheh TV from this morning. He is totally transparent and very clear about his views.

Faramarz,

I just watched it; you are right about the interview with Andisheh.
Do you think the video can be embedded underneath the BBC’s in this blog?
If not, do you mind posting it in a blog, today I’ve posted 3 blogs and it won’t be right to post a 4th one.

IRANLOVESISRAEL Shlomo would love to entertain you and your significant other at his Kabab-Hammoom parlor in your next trip to Tel Aviv.

Mr. Reza Pahlavi comes across very graceful, confident, genuine, considerate, polite, and informed about the topic he is discussing.

Mr. Enayat Fani comes across extremely suspicious, passive aggressive, belligerent, and benign accusatory.

But, in the end, Mr. Pahlavi scored 10 and Mr. Fani scored 0!

It is the job of a reporter to ask difficult questions.

True! But, he [the reporter] should apply the same degree of rigor to all of his subjects and not pick and choose!

You are right (generally speaking) but, RP is a bit of a lightening rod at this time, it is very important to field all questions, I think he handles them well, at this level of discussion at least. At this time there are so many more questions than there are answers. My question is if the (secular democratic) organization RP is talking about is going to coordinate with the one that came together recently in Prague and in Stockholm before that or is everybody playing their own musical instrument as the saying goes?

I agree with him and like the way he discusses our future agenda's too. That our future wishes (beyond the ballot box deciding the outcome) are a distraction from the task at hand which requires total participation to win the right to vote transparently and freely. In order to ALL work with one another, including with people who hold opposing beliefs, we all need to come together to create an environment where we can choose freely. We don't have it and coming together from opposing points of view will not give us total 100% grass roots participation to win the right for free and fair elections.

Beautifully put by His Majesty. For 33 years there has been no dialogue what so ever with the opposition in pursuit of a secular democratic Iran, I am not saying stop your dialogue with the regime, I am saying start your dialogue with the opposition for the sake of the human rights and freedom of those within Iran, before you gear up for a military occupation of Iran. @13.14 That's not the way the USA/UK/France & co. work for oil rich countries. They don't accept just any opposition if they do not meet their real goals, seeking only tyrants and extremists, whether Libya or Iraq.

Violence is the only language the West has used so far lets hope supporting the opponents to the regime is tried for the first time, in the name of fighting against evil, human rights and being humanitarian. Instead of occupation, air strikes and the cold blooded murder of unarmed citizens by extremist "friends of democracy"
like the MeK in Iran.
