Balatarin

This is one aspect of the "cultural revolution" that the Islamic Republic has been relatively successful in implementing.

I wonder if this sort of events can be promoted for expanding Tourism and spreading the Shokoohmand Islamic revolution???!!!

My friend this is way deeper than being upset about people going to watch public execution, people are always curious about death sad but true
The problem is why we don't protest against the brutalities like this, it doesn't mater if it is public or nonpublic. Our silence is an approval seal to the continuation of these medieval punishments.
For the last 30 years we have been blaming Islam for all of our misery. When I look around and I see Egypt 1 year after Islamic revolution and not a single execution I wonder if the problem is us not Islam. As long as we keep blaming something else other than ourselves for our doom fate nothing will get any better. We are all responsible for what is happening in Iran

amirparvizforsecularmonarchy

amirparvizforsecularmonarchy I Love Waterfalls and Find One of the most humorous things in the world; is the notion that Americans are a greater force for good & more civilized than Nazi's, Mullahs and Communists.

I disagree with a lot of that comment. There is a balance between victim and responsibility, we are struggling with responsibility because in fact despite giving up many lives struggling against this extremism we are victims. Iranians are now living in real Tyranny. The foreign dimension makes us even greater victims, not less because our people were anti-intellectual and are still regarding how they were used by those who love Islamic extremism for Iran, like they do for syria and libya and select others.

It takes Ignorance to not understand what tyranny is. It takes more ignorance to not realize the effects of tyranny, how it shuts down thinking and development & expression of views. To not know when one is a victim and of what, Is like a doctor not being able to diagnose an illness. What I know for sure is that you and those who tooped you are not political scientists, they don't see the external opposing force, the real motives or the limits of Iranians ability to oppose the political forces harming Iran. Thanks much for your well said comment. Needless to add that the least this huge crowd could do to signal their disgust with such these events is to stay home.

More people should come out to watch; this kind of event could be a positive step for the opposition. Since people are not allowed to assemble or gather in lager number on the streets except when Akhoond permits, then opposition should use times like this to get out in masses and turn the whole thing around to a protest. Beat them at their own game.

I vividly remember to this day, and it makes my stomach inside and out, an incident when I was a little kid (early 70's) when a bulldozer trying to demolish an old bath house in Karaj flipped, fell over, and crushed its operator into liquid.... ! It was a gruesome scene! And worse than was that all the spectators standing around the place and chanting alllah o massal ala mohammad or some crap like that kept sticking around to see more...! The morbid curiosity, I guess!

Call it Islam, call it centuries upon centuries of a culture of teaching, promoting, encouraging, and glorifying violence and barbarism, ... it is a perpetual state of death, destruction, beating, rape, torture, hanging, chopping human body parts, and savagery of course intensified 1000 folds over the past 34 years....!

Ladies and gentleman repeat after me - Iranian culture is a savage culture no matter how you dice it or slice it! With mullahs or without mullahs!

I disagree ILI, Iranian culture within which I grew up was not violent. I learnt all I know about fairness, hard work, service and mostly about intellectual curiosity and honesty from an Iranian family, my family and we were not an exception.

I guess you were lucky! Maybe I happened to be situated where a large concentration of these types of folks thrived! For the sake of good people such as yourself, I hope that Iran still contains a critical mass of reasoned and kind folks to overcome and outweigh the other side!

choghok Your enemie's enemy is necessarily not a friend.

Fred a question for you and other NIAC bashers, if there was a revolution tomorrow in Iran what do you think happen to these people you rightfully call wild creatures? Don't you think they become modern citizens believing in democracy in just 1 day? I think not and that is why I do not buy into revolution for improving the situation.
