Neither the West nor the Arab League are pondering the reasons for the Russians and Chinese reluctance vis-à-vis a change in Syria’s political structure. This would be to misrepresent the West and the Arab league, who are very different than the people that make up their societies, a people who's minds are as misinformed and deceived as a picture of a guy with a 6 pack eating a plump and juicy Big Mac. Really there are a few issues here, but the main one is that the velvet democratic revolutions of organized for eastern Europe were to achieve a different goal and than what the west is doing by supporting extremists in North Africa and the Middle East are to achieve a different interest altogether.
