Learning from Iran:How to prevent religious dictatorship in Egypt

Last year, after Morsi's election, in an interview with Australia's National Radio I pointed out some of the structural failures of the Egyptian revolutionaries which led to the election of Morsi. I suggested where it might lead and offered some suggestions for how to prevent the emergence of a democratically elected religious dictatorship. However, although the ongoing events and confrontation of the rise of dictatorship, as long as the revolutionaries do not address the real issues their current strategy can't go far.

I am posting the interview again here and welcome all comments.

Too bad you experimented with Iran before learning this lesson which you're now giving to others.

Please say hi to Mr . Bani-Sadr, who also did not know it then, and like you, claims to know it now.
