Having Sunni Extremists in Power in Syria's, In place of Assad, is not a Politics of removing IRI, but securing them for decades by using Syria and Iraq conflict to remove resources out of the region region. For this to happen Assad's Team has to go and everyone in the region loses as they all get into conflict with one another over controlling influence. They said when Saddam falls so will the IRI, it didn't happen. The only thing that happened is the US Policy for the region became clearer.
Other than internal conflict, inner political turmoil, long term political feuds the USA has no higher aim.
