You can fool some of the people all the time and/or all the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all the people all the time!

Dear Demo,

Religions are basically all the same CRAP, designed to control the masses of people for the benefit of a small group, so they can free load off the rest, the general public, and to ROB.

Carl Marx said that religion(s) are opium for the masses; what he meant was that it might make us feel good, momentarily, i.e. heroin or cocaine, but that is because of the toxicity of it, an opiate, while void of anything morally substantial! He was right on the mark then and correct on his assessment TODAY/NOW!

You are so negative Demagogue!

Trust me, Buddha will have the last laugh and not Mohammad.

As for the source, there are plenty of articles in both English and Farsi (link below) about the topic. I just liked this one because it had a great picture of a happy and laughing Buddha!

Negative Demagogue? For Real?

Even Buddha would have been crying if he knew the type of hardships our people were going through because of back breaking sanctions forced upon them & applauded 'positively' by you & your ilk!

And the last thing you & the Mollas want is divert people' attentions away from the critical issues facing the country and for people to worship a laughing statue for a miracle to happen!

The only similarity is the size of Buddha's belly and the Molla's!

Taliban bombed 1400 year old Bamiyan Buddha statue in Afghanistan; IRI bans Buddha statues in Iran! Apparently Taliban and IRI have something in common!

Dear Yolanda: Taliban and IRI have a lot in common; their lack of confidence in their beliefs:

"You are never dedicated to something you have complete confidence in. No one is fanatically shouting that the sun is going to rise tomorrow. They know it's going to rise tomorrow. When people are fanatically dedicated to political or religious faiths or any other kinds of dogmas or goals, it's always because these dogmas or goals are in doubt.--Robert M. Pirsig

Dear Faraway,
The article said,"Some Islamists do not support production of any statue, since they view it as a way to promote idols."
IRI bans buddha statues, but they idolize and lionize themselves by using murals and portraits. They plaster giant Khomeini and Khameini's murals everywhere in Iran:
http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=khomeini+murals&id=1311D3FD6757235C97E3BA64C937681B8922B972&FORM=IQFRBA#view=detail&id=1311D3FD6757235C97E3BA64C937681B8922B972&selectedIndex=0

Khomeini's and Khamenei's portraits are ubiquitous in every classroom and office. To me statues and murals are very similar. The only difference is that murals are 2D while statues are 3D!
IRI is just purely jealous and insecure, they ban the toy size buddhas, but elevates Khamenei and Khomeini to God's status!

Mao and his gang were an irreligious bunch who had no respect or tolerance whatsoever for people's religions or beliefs. But day in and day out we hear about Islam being the religion of tolerance and peace. By observing the way Islam is being practice in most Islamic states, can we simply surmise that Islam is not what its believer want us to believe?

If it came to it I would prefer Iran to be Buddhist then Muslim.
Buddha, didnt attack Iran nor his followers.
In fact Iran has some Buddhist history! Some of his first followers were Iranian, who helped its spread.

Iran had Buddhists, Afghanistan was both Buddhist and Zoroastrian.
These two Aryan religions had a lot of positive influence on each other before Islam wiped them out.
Recently in a cave in Afghanistan a painting entitled Buddha-Mazda was found!

What if they were made out of cardboard?
Or is Khomeini’s cardboard ban too?

Shah's photo was replaced by Khomeini's on Iranian currency. Let's wait and see whose figurine will replace Buddha's.

We should start to worship the sun, that would really wind them up.
What would they do? Send a rocket to the sun? Create a giant tent over the nation, ban people from looking up?
