When I was very young, the Persian side of my family, my dad, left for China. As bad as it sounds, while I had the chance to learn about my culture I didn’t because I didn’t understand how precious one’s culture is, and I was embarrassed to be Persian. Now that I am a little bit older, I regret pretending I was only Austrian and Irish. I would love to learn about the Persian culture and Farsi in hopes that I can realize my identity more, since I believe one’s background is a crutial part of them.
