HOSSEINI: Our strategic objectives in foreign policy include diversifying our foreign relations geographically; actively participating in regional and international communities; making a positive impact on settling disputes and regional tensions; paving ways for promoting non-oil exports and exporting technical and engineering services and know-how, focusing particularly on Iranian expatriates living abroad and evaluating their potential; forming inter-parliamentary friendship groups; streamlining cultural and media cooperation. In recent years, the facts show that despite certain countries’ attempts to ignore the Islamic Republic of Iran, the role of our country in maintaining security and alleviating crises in the Middle East and Persian Gulf is vital and important.
