Gedmin compares what he calls “emigre broadcasting” for Radio Farda as a more independent model for news reporting than news agencies within Iran because news agencies in Iran must practice a certain amount of self-censorship if they expect to maintain access in Iran. Gedmin ends the interview with assurances that Radio Farda does not promote separatism within Iran, but rather gives a voice to different views within Iran.
