Arman’s graduation from high school is fast approaching. Today, he was getting his graduation cards ready. I was astonished and pleased by his request. He said “Mom, I want to write a special letter to grandma. I will need you to translate it for me since her English is not very good.” I said “Sure!” It ended up more like a poem. The following is what he wrote to her. I was truly touched by my sons’s words to his very beloved grandmother. I know that many will also feel the same as they read a 17 years old words of love.
I want to thank you
For all the love
For the cookies that tasted
Like they were from up above
I have kept all your letters
Close to my heart
All your words of advice
To help me start
A better life on a better path
For helping me in the past
For loving me even if I was bad
For hugging me when I was sad
I want to say “Thank you!”
Abuelita I love you too.
