The striking thing about the unprecedented “presidential debates” in the Islamic republic, aside their début, was the amount of criminal wrongdoings the participants who are all former or current high officials of the system publicly aired about one another. The least of charges, with some apparent substance, were related to illegal enrichment and corruption in the form of accepting graft.
Around 6:40 in the morning of Saturday, May the 23rd. the 62 year old former South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun, a reformist who was accused of corruption, threw himself off a steep cliff.
His suicide note says: “Too many people are suffering because of me”.
