Taraneh Mousavi and Islamic Republic incompetence in returning her to life
28 year-old Taraneh Mousavi was arrested or abducted on July 9th by Basij thugs in Tehran. There were witnesses to Taraneh Mousavi’s abduction near the Ghoba Mosque. The report is that Taraneh Mousavi’s burned, beaten, raped and tortured body was found later in a wasteland between Tehran and city of Ghazvin. Taraneh Mousavi was an only child of elderly parents. Her parents said to be under threat by the regime to keep silent.
Islamic Republic attempt to deny all allegations on Taraneh Mousavi, rape, torture and murder “She doesn’t exist, but we found her”!!!
Taraneh Mousavi’s name has been floating around for weeks as a possible victim of Islamic Republic prisons. Following the news of her tragic death, Iranian reformers and hardliners alike have asked for an investigation.
9 August 2009, on 20:30 the news program on IRIB2 broadcasts a special report on Taraneh Mousavi. The special report on IRIB2 goes quickly over some lines in reformist and hardliner news sites and newspapers’ asking of Taraneh Mousavi’s whereabouts and then cunningly switched over to quote FACEBOOK and other social networking sites mentioning rumors of Taraneh Mousavi’s’ “burnt body” or her “abuse and rape in prison”. Naturally, for an ignorant observer this show was made to look as if the official news sites were investigating the alleged rumors.
Then in the report we see an official from Iran’s National Organization for Civil Registration (Sabt-e Ahval). The Registration officer establishes that according to Iran National Registration data only three person with the name of Taraneh Mousavi exist in Iran: One of them is two years old, (This is obviously not our Taraneh Mousavi). The second one was born on 1963 in Paris and raised in France. She never has visited Iran. (This one can’t be our Taraneh Mousavi either). The third one is a forty years old woman whom has left Iran a few years ago. She has never returned to Iran since. (So, it can’t be this one neither??? For our Taraneh Mousavi was 28 years old and living in Iran!!!). As we can see in the report, the Civil Registration officer can’t even find a picture of Taraneh Mousavi in the official database. He simply implies that she doesn’t exist!!!
However, despite their own evidence, the IRIB2 reporters miraculously find our imaginary Taraneh Mousavi??? Later in this IRIB2 report, we see an old woman and her daughter sitting in their living room. The reporter gives them a picture (presumably the picture of our Taraneh Mousavi) and asks them if they recognize it. The mother says: “yes I do. This is a picture of my daughter.” Then the reporter asks: “Where is she right now?” The mother replies: “In Canada – Vancouver”. The reporter asks the mother “Do you receive any news from your daughter”? The mother: “Yes. I talked to her yesterday and she is fine.” The reporter: “When did she leave Iran?” The mother “A few years ago”. The reporter: “When was the last time she visited Iran?” The mother: “She visited us/Iran a year and half ago.” Then the program continues with Taraneh’s alleged sister laughing and joking about the news they have just received from the reporter of IRIB2 on their so called “daughter’s/sister’s” Rape, Torture and Murder. Very Funny Indeed!!!
The blunder
According to the Iran’s National Organization for Civil Registration officer, we don’t have any 28 years old Taraneh Mousavi, the only child of some elderly parents in Iran. But, curiously, the IRIB2 reporters not only found her and her family, but also proved that she does exist and is still alive!!! She also has a sister!!!! She lives in Vancouver!!! She doesn’t know that according to Iranian officials: “she doesn’t exist”!!! She doesn’t know that according to National and International media she is dead!!!
