United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Sunday called on Iran to “fully cooperate” with the International Atomic Energy Agency [IAEA] in resolving outstanding questions about Tehran’s nuclear program.
In an interview with the Austrian daily, der Standard, Ban said that while Iran’s cooperation with the nuclear watchdog had “improved slightly”, the agency could not fully clarify the nature of Iran’s nuclear program.
“Iran must fully meet the demands of the [UN] Security Council,” said the UN chief.
In its report published on Friday, the IAEA confirmed that Iran was still defying UN Security Council demands to suspend its uranium enrichment activities, and reiterated its calls for Tehran to cooperate more fully with the agency. >>>
