Question 1) “Given the regime’s media lies to the next generation in Iran I wonder whether you have plans to set up a satellite network in order to enlighten Iranian young generation or No?”
Maryam Azad, Iran
Reza Pahlavi: Dear Maryam,
This is one of the most frequently asked questions from me, over the years. I certainly have always viewed the absence of a reliable medium of communication with our compatriots at home –- and they amongst themselves—as a critical missing component in our struggle.
The government-run news organizations and/or the more reputable foreign-based Iranian television and radio stations have somewhat increased our reach, but do not necessarily provide us the content or consistency we require for our movement.
I have spoken with people who are interested in helping in different ways, many of whom are a part of today’s generation. Funding and logistics aside, we also will need an appropriate cadre of people to develop and deliver all of the reliable and appropriate content. Content is as important, if not more so, than the mechanics of the technology. All this will be implementable once we secure the necessary financial requirements.
