TEHRAN (FNA)- Commander of Venezuela’s Navy granted his
country’s Medal of Honor to Iran’s military attaché to Caracas.
The Iranian diplomat as well as his Mexican and Ecuadorian
counterparts were picked up from among 25 foreign military attachés in
Caracas to receive the medal.
The Venezuelan Arm’s Medal of Honor was granted to the Iranian
military attaché in a special ceremony at the Navy Headquarters on
Saturday evening.
The ceremony was attended by senior Venezuelan Navy commanders and the country’s top political and military figures.
The medals were granted to the three diplomats for their active and
constant interaction and cooperation with the Venezuelan army.
Iran has in recent years expanded friendly ties with Latin America, specially in economic, trade and industrial fields.
Since taking office in 2005, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
has expanded Iran’s cooperation with many Latin American states,
including Venezuela, Bolivia and Cuba.
