Top US lawmakers on Thursday vowed tough action against Iran, including sanctions targeting its gasoline exports, during talks in Washington with Jewish leaders.
Democratic Representative Howard Berman told the more than 300 Jewish leaders that the clock has “almost run out” on Iran, reports the Jewish Telegraph Agency.
Berman, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said he will move forward on Iran sanctions legislation next month, if Tehran fails to meet Washington’s deadline to begin negotiations with major powers on its nuclear program.
