The caption of this photo in Le Soleil in
Dakar dated February 27, 1976 reads as follows: From now on in
all of Senegal the emblem of the Lion and Torch, symbol of NIOC
[National Iranian Oil Company] is replacing the effigy of Shell.
The Queen also inaugurated the industrial comples of Cayar created
by the
Société Irano-Sénégalaise
des Mines, (IRANSENCO). Hey it still exists and continues on today
with the Islamic Republic of Iran - Obviously we did something
worthwhile.
