June 17, 2003 * Selling Monarchy to Bush The roar of the American tanks invading Iraq, the swish of the missiles racing to their targets, and the cacophony of artillery fire and airplanes flying overhead were all music to the ears of some Iranian monarchists. Secretly they wished that a few bombs be carried by serendipity and strike the seat of the ruling establishment in Iran. Not so secretly, some of this lot also wished that the Bush Administration carry the war next door, liberate Iran! Well, this Administration may just do that and do it for its own reasons. However, one thing which has penetrated even the thickest of skulls in this Administration is the fact that expatriates are con artists and their bravado and assurances of a welcoming citizenry across the border is wishful thinking, false advertising. As it turns out, Chalabi has about as much appeal in Iraq than a peet-halabi (tin can). On the other hand, the monarchists should be contemplating the implications of the sudden decision by the Administration to cease-fire with the MKO camps in Iraq, whose subsidiary has been branded by this very Administration as a terrorist organization: Maybe a defiant march in Washington, D.C. had something to do with the Administration keeping alive the possibility of relying on these guys to keep the Iranian rulers' feet to the fire or even "liberate" Iran one day. The monarchists need to show how they distinguish themselves as better salesmen than the Chalabists. Go to work! * We are making ourselves weaker I have been in the USA for over 25 years. I have seen a lots of demonstrations, hunger strikes...and so on. Iranian students were very active against the Shah. Finally they changed the government in Iran and somehow the mullahs took over the country. It has been over 20 years. I read a lots of letters on this site. Some do not like the Shah's regime or don't like the Mojahedin, don't want Banisadr, don't like Artesheehaa, don't want Nehzat Azadi, don't like any group to take charge in Iran while all the akhoondaa are sitting on round table and dividing the oil money between each other and enjoying the power. In the mean time we are looking for a leader to take charge and overthrow this government. By attacking each other and each organization or group we are not getting anywhere; we are making ourselves weaker and present government stronger and stronger. I think its time to get together and support each other and find a group or organization to lead people of IRAN to the new democratic society and stop attacking other group. People of IRAN waiting for this and that time will come if we stick together. B. Beiti * Why so generous towards them? I am just surprised to see Ahmad Sadri's articles right on the top of the front page, when he doesn't look like and doesn't talk like an Iranian [To resign or not to resign]! I don't want to see articles in the Iranian. Com by non Iranians! Are the Israelis or Iraqis going to publish our political articles on their web sites? NO! So, why are we so generous towards them? The Israelis have ruined our and the Arab world's lives for more than 50 years, if not centuries! They always interfere in other people's affairs! Enough is enough! We should stop them now! Let's realize that no body cares about the Iranians as much as an Iranian can, will or should! So, I just want to hear from the Iranians who care about their country, on your Web site! * Find what was wrong in the past i wish reza pahlavi would at least once announce what went wrong with his father's regime. establishing rastakhiz party and forced everybody to submit or get out of country, was that correct? establishing and controlling a huge military budget out of the inspection of any legitimate agency was right?controlling all mass media-t.v/radio/news paper/magazine/speechs was right or wrong? let's not forget that the shah did a lot of good things for our country and people. only when we find what was wrong in the past then we can prevent them in the future. * No wonder it's illegal -- everywhere else I saw the photos of cockfighting in Iran [Love you to death]. No wonder this sport is illegal almost everywhere in the world. How inhumane to put these innocent animals through this horror for sport! I thought this activity was illegal in Iran?! * Love cockfighting I loved your report on cockfighting! [Love you to death] Great job and thanks. I shared it with several of my friends and they all loved it. I live in the US now but some 20 years ago I used to raise those type of chickens (Larry). IF you have any tape or more photos and do not mind to share it with us please let me know. * Men who bad mouth Iranian women Mr. Je Se, you are one intelligent man and good for you ["One of God's..."]. All of us brilliant people know that only men, who are deserving, intelligent, confident, fun and self-assured, want Iranian women. I have met some of those who bash Iranian woman. One of them had a non-Iranian girlfriend who was sleeping with him and another Iranian man at the same time and when he confronted her the response was "when you put a ring on this finger". This very man married her and after 21 years (I happen to know that she had slept with everything that had pants on because of her fat body she was insecure so this was her way of getting attention) and still works like a dog and does what she wants. I can not tell you how many times this married lady with children wanted to go out with me and also wanted to know if I had the phone number of the man she used to sleep with (the man is Aabadani). My point? I can show you many of these men who bad mouth Iranian women but have a different standard for their non-Iranian wives. Well, we really don‚t care for their type and we believe people get what they deserve. Lucky you to have an Iranian mate and take my advise and try and learn Farsi so she can speak to you andfeel even closer. It is a magical language and does wonder for the heart. As for those imbecile, low life and probably ugly Iranian men (like the one who thinks being married to a Vietnamese woman entitles him to call her a princess and address us as shallow and materialistic we don‚t give a damn because they are not worth our time. We know what those boys lack in material and non-material possessions! * Sad when women given negative image As an Iranian woman I would like to thank you for this article ["One of God's..."]. It is truly sad when some men give Iranian women and girls a negative image and put them all into one category. Women, like men, in all countries, are diverse and with their own specific personalities and quirks. Besides mutual love and companionship, the most important criteria in a marriage is to be able to compromise, have understanding and compassion, and to want to make it work. I wish you both continued happy days and years, * If we only cared half as much about our own people With regards to Mr. Daragahi's article... WHO CARES!!!! ["Occupation" is an ugly word] Why do we Iranians care so much what happens to other people in the world, particularly these hated ARAB neighbors who are thirsty for our blood. If we only cared half as much about our own people and worried half as much about our own homeland, then Iran would be a better place and Iranians would be better off. My humble opinion... * "Fesaad" in Canada? Hossein jan, I enjoy some of your cartoons but I have to tell you that you sound so bitter and unhappy! First of all, I don't know where you see all the social corruption and "fesaad", especially in Canada where you live. What part of town do you hang out in? You see, in the free societies it's up to you how much corruption you and your family are exposed to. You seem to be so afraid of and concerned with lesbians and sexual vices, but I have lived in the US for over 20 years and not once I was confronted with vice unless I put myself in its path or invited it on myself somehow! And as for comparing Iran and the West as it relates to social corruptions, I have news for you buddy. If you haven't been to Iran for a while, let me assure you, the corruption and vice in Iranian society has reached levels that no one can be spared any more, regardless of how hard you avoid it! Forget about bad apples in Iran, that apple is pretty much gone buddy! And my question also is if the Western life and society is so bad, then why don't you go back to Iran? And if Canada is giving you that impression, what would you do if you lived in Los Angeles or New York. Your work hardly qualifies you for serious scrutiny by IRI censors, so why not pack it up and go back to Iran, if you're so unhappy?! And if you take the advice and do go back, then please write us all back through Iranian.com and let us know if you see less or more sexual daemons in Tehran than you seem to be overrun by up in peaceful Canada?! Fare well in any case! (see reply below) * This is my choice Thank you for your advice ["Fesaad" in Canada?]. I am in canada, much more hard and the people also not friendly as USA. I was be in many place in Canada all same too much TAX and people ignore others nationality, also when I was try to left Canada to USA I saw ignore and racism from USA immigration, this is democracy country and I am a citizen of canada should be free to travel. Why they stop only me and turn me back to nasty canada? I saw canadian white man apply for grant and they have good job and others...nothings, so many homeless and poor and also so many don't like to get marride or are homosexuall, this country crazy place, I was be in LA, much better from canada, people are normaly good and healty, but why I ignore all those democracy and....because in past eight years I havimg hard times... Thank friend, but all of us not same as each others, I am artist I came here for love and to show my talent best but they reject my art works, they reject my homeland and where I born, and they treated me like as animals which never happen in Iran, those Ayatolah in Iran was be much friendly to me, but what I did I left them and ignore them, no more and I don't like ignore my home land any more and I don't like this democracy go in Iran, this is my choice which I learn in past with pain. Good luck to you friend, More letters (June 17, 2003) |
