President Mohhammad Khatami and Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi listen the the speech
by Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer during the opening ceremony of the Economic
Cooperation Organization Summit in Istanbul, October 14, 2002. The ten-member Muslim
group includes member states, Afghanistan (news - web sites), Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakstan,
Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The ECO is
an intergovernmental regional organization established in 1985 by Iran, Pakistan
and Turkey for the purpose of sustainable socioeconomic development of the member
