I would like to nominate my friend's mother Ms Soraya Khalilian as Iranian of the Day. She recently received the 2005 Award (Excellence in Courage and Dedication Crystal Award) of  International Brain Mapping and Intraoperative Surgical Planning Society (IBMISPS).

Ms. Khalilian has dedicated her last 20 years of her life to take care of her son who is suffering from a very rare brain tumor. She has a sociology degree from the University of Tehran and is a retired teacher. Upon receiving the news of her son's brain tumor 20 years ago she immigrated to the US to find a better facility to treat her son. She has also went back to school and obtained her AA degree in laboratory medicine in order to better manage her son's brain tumor.
