Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area by a Swiss immigrant mother and Iranian immigrant father, Leila Sadeghi had a very multicultural upbringing. Her parents met in Europe and moved to Iran prior to the Iranian revolution in 1978. Leila's parents came to the US in 1979 after the Islamic Revolution started, leaving almost all her father's relatives behind.
