FYI/ Kouchner also Opposed to Switching Bakhtiar for Reisse
by Darius Kadivar on Tue Mar 22, 2011 07:18 AM PDTEven at the time when his position was fragilized by constant attacks from the Left wing Socialists for accepting to work with Sarkozy and basically on his way out of office, Kouchner did his best to stop any bargain to exchange Bakhtiar's assassin with French detainee Clothild Reisse
NO BARGAIN POSSIBLE: French Foreign Minister Kouchner On Clotilde Reisse (Interview)
Again to deaf ears ...
Politics is a cynical game !
Kouchner was to pay for his loyalty by losing his job to another minister when Sarkozy made changes in his updated government.
A great loss for the international scene. Hope he will be back again with new responsabilities. For he is a man of integrity.

BRAVO KOUCHNER !
by Darius Kadivar on Tue Mar 22, 2011 07:06 AM PDTKouchner has been striving for years to have the UN adopt the notion of "Droit D'Ingérence" aka "The Right to Intervene" on humanitarian grounds. Given the experience in Kosovo, Rwanda this seemed obvious yet No one took him seriously.
Now One can see how right he was.
To think he was forced out of the French government by the same Stupid Liberals and Socialists who wanted to cheaply accuse him of being corrupted by African leaders with whom he had developed networks as an advisor on third world development and humanitarian issues. As if one could influence or change mindsets on the African continent or elsewhere by sitting idle in an Office in Paris and not traveling accross the globe to make your voice heard.
This is what I mostly hate the so called "Moralist " left wing intelligenstia who always want to boast about Moral Standards as in the case of the former French Minister of Defense ( Michellle Aliot Marie) on grounds that she had accepted to use a private jet lent by Ben Ali during her vacation in Tunisia. As if former Socialists didn't ? Kouchner is a man of experience and the Left by jealousy did everything to gun him down because they never digested the fact that he accepted to be in Sarkozy's government despite being a Socialist himself.
The result of these so called Liberals is that No one interfered on time in Libya when all this could have been stopped on time while the Libyan Caligula was on his knees. That's why I will never take all these crocodile tear shit from any Left Wing Liberal. In the end it is about doing the right thing at the right time. It has nothing to do with being Left Wing or Right Wing. Humanism belongs to everyone who has a heart and has nothing to do with the color of your skin, your bank account, your family background, your political or ideological beliefs.
One can be left Wing and talk crap or Right Wing and talk sense, the same is true the other way round. But Political correctness has become the dokoon of the Left when it comes to lecturing people on Moral Standards on basically everything that matters in the world. From Gay Rights to that of other minorities ... Heck You Name it.
Talk is Cheap, Action matters and from that Point of View thank God that People Like Kouchner, Bernard Henri Levy and other genuine Intellectuals have the courage to speak up when it's less fashionable to take a bold stance on difficult issues.
So Indeed :
BRAVO KOUCHNER !
