The head of the International Monetary Fund, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, has been charged by New York police over an alleged sex attack on a hotel maid.

Mr Strauss-Kahn, 62, was taken off an Air France plane at JFK airport just minutes before it left for Paris.

Police say he faces three charges, including attempted rape. His lawyer told Reuters he would plead not guilty.

The married former French finance minister is also considered a possible Socialist candidate for the presidency.

He is due to attend a meeting of European Union finance ministers in Brussels on Monday to discuss the bailouts of Portugal and Greece.

So French, So Socialist!

by Faramarz on

This monsieur who presumably would have been the Socialist Party challenger to Joojeh Khoroos Sarkozy in France’s next presidential election chased a maid in his $3,000 a night Sofitel suite, forced himself on her, and then ran to JFK airport and took the next flight to Paris. But the police caught up with him at the airport and dragged him out of his first class seat (but of course!) and took him in!

Say what you want to say about Sarko, but at least he is staying around the house and is trying to get Carla Bruni pregnant!

Here is monsieur and his wife who vehemently defended him and said that he is innocent.

Sarko's plot
