Welcome to the Violent World of Mr. Hopey Changey

When Britain lost control of Egypt in 1956, Prime Minister Anthony Eden said he wanted the nationalist president Gamal Abdel Nasser “destroyed … murdered … I don’t give a damn if there’s anarchy and chaos in Egypt”. Those insolent Arabs, Winston Churchill had urged in 1951, should be driven “into the gutter from which they should never have emerged”.

The language of colonialism may have been modified; the spirit and the hypocrisy are unchanged. A new imperial phase is unfolding in direct response to the Arab uprising that began in January and has shocked Washington and Europe, causing an Eden-style panic. The loss of the Egyptian tyrant Mubarak was grievous, though not irretrievable; an American-backed counter-revolution is under way as the military regime in Cairo is seduced with new bribes and power shifting from the street to political groups that did not initiate the revolution. The western aim, as ever, is to stop authentic democracy and reclaim control.

I wonder what would wake this fella John Pilger...

by Roozbeh_Gilani on

And his fellow European Liberal left intellectuals from their dream of cold war? I suspect the sound of Coup the grace delivered by an Iranian working class woman into Ahmadinezhad and Khamenei's heads!

Patriot

Afshin Ehx and Sahar Naaz

by Patriot on

Afshin Ehx and Sahar Naaz only post news about US and Israel. Iran Military Forum posts news about Iran, but mostly pro-IRI news from Fars News and Press TV. Iran Military Forum remembers how to format news excerpts one day and all his submissions are perfect (and his English is better, too), and on some other days all his submissions have formatting problems (and his English regresses). Go figure.

We also have people who seem to care a lot about Iran, but are really only after a military attack on Iran. We can tell who they are and what agenda they are following.

I think the News Section of Iranian.com should have news about Iran. At least the ones featured should all be about Iran. There a million other news outlets for finding news about US and Israel, AIPAC, and such. Bring us news about Iran.

Perhaps you do not understand the idiocy of your statement; so I do not take you seriously. Of course everyone has a right to make fool of oneself-Carry on.

Iran 2050

The Left supports IRI

by Iran 2050 on

Simorgh555 jaan,

That’s what the Left is all about. The Leftists, without any shame, will apologize and support any Fascist regime out there as long as they portray themselves as anti American. These people LOVE the Iranian regime, and also Syria and Libya and China and Russia. You think they give a darn what these regimes do their own people and the world??? Listen to Chomsky, Soraya Ulrich, Rostam Pourzal…they all LOVE the IRI regime. As long as you bash America, they will support you.

Leftism is a bankrupt and outdated ideology. Of course they promote anti American and anti Israeli agenda. Don’t get me wrong, I am all for the right of a Palestinian state and I believe Israel is a lesser evil version of IRI. But one, like you did, can distinguish when someone is truly standing up for justice, or when they only find injustice in Palestine, which at that point, its propaganda, isn’t it, it’s not speaking out for justice.

Simorgh555 jaan, let these people fool themselves Who cares!

Almost all.your articles are related to AIPAC/Israel and the Palestinian cinflict. Regardless of the rights and wrongs of the issue (if.you are.not that Military Terror dude, I'm sorry) why don't you post one article.directly relevant to Iran? There are 8 Iranians executed every hour as.well the entire national heritage and landscape being destroyed through reckless negkect and mismanagementby this terror regime. Why does this small strip of land overwhelm you so much that it deserves your almost reigious dedication. If Iranian nationality is not important then why post news articles on this site.
Why are Palestinian right more important than Iranians, Sudanese, Rawandans. Tibetans and dozens of countries who are under occupation?
I bet you if Lebanon and jordan would allow Palestinians to become citizens allow them to take up.employment in any one of fhe 70.professions such as doctors.which they are prevented from then neither you or anyone else would right about ths.

Simorgh 5555 Jan,

I am beginning to worry about you. A few days ago, in a comment on one of my posts you had an outburst as you wrote gibberish. Now, you are posting comments addressed to “military forum dude” in a response to a post of mine. Is everything okay? I hope you are not mistaking me for that “dude”.

Do you have a comment on John Pilger’s article?
