ZBC (Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation) refuses to repay Iran loan

THE Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) is reportedly refusing to repay a US$5 million Iranian loan which was used to refurbish the broadcaster’s studios claiming some of the equipment supplied under the deal was defective.

The loan was part of a US$15 million deal reached in 2004 between the Zimbabwe government and Tehran with about US$10 million going to the Agricultural Rural Development Agency (Arda).

A report by parliament’s portfolio committee on Media, Information and Communication Technology presented last week stated that the ZBC only paid back US$300000.00 adding managers were refusing to stump-up the balance.

"To date ZBC still owes the Iranian company à5-million as it is accruing interest," the parliamentary report says.

The money was used to refurbish and modernise television studios at the corporation’s Pockets Hill broadcasting centre in Harare’s leafy Highlands suburb.

Fantastic result. That is what happens when the Terrorist Regime occupying Iran gets when it attempts to reach out and help other rogue terrorist regimes. 'There is no honour among thieves' as the saying goes and there is no honour among Terrorist States. Of course, this isn't the first time Iranian Terrorist Regime state philanthropy backfired. Arafat and the PLO gobbled up millions of dollars donated by Khomeini and then spent it on terror activities and supported Saddam Hussein.

I am a traitor because IRIB have been ripped off by Zimbabwe and now they cannot broadcast Jihadi images of Palestinians strapping on explosives before blowing themselves up on a school bus. If you feel so compassionate towards Palestinians then take your betrayal of Iran further and ask President Mahmoud Abbas to give you an honourary Palestinian citizenship once he unilaterally declares a Palestinian state. I am not Jewish or Israeli so if you eant to knock Israel go right ahead. It does not solve the situation the murder @ 8 person per hour in Iran. For every 'What about Israel' therr is also a "What about Sudan' where Arab Militia men have ethnic cleansed 20 million Africans to Arabize the entire sub-saharan regions. But human beings other than Palestinians who are being kept in refugee camps by their own Arab brethren in Lebanon and Jordan mean sweet FA to you.
