The Ottawa Senators have probably never had a player with the background of Swedish forward Mika Zibanejad, who they took with their No. 6 pick in the first round of the this year's NHL draft.
His father is Iranian, his mother is Finnish, and he was born in Sweden. His half-brother, Monir Kalgoum, is also a professional hockey player in Europe.
